Instructions

Step 1

Choose the tarot deck that's right for you. The basic tarot deck consists of 78 cards, subdivided into two Arcana. The Major Arcana of 22 cards are the main cards, each of them is endowed with a special meaning associated with the secrets of Life, the Universe, spiritual development and human destiny. The Minor Arcanum consists of 56 auxiliary cards, similar to playing cards, also subdivided into four suits - Cups, Wands, Swords and Pentacles. In each suit, in addition to numbers from 2 to 10, there are "pictures" - Jacks, Horsemen, Queens, Kings and Aces. There are more than a hundred variations of Tarot cards - Tarot by Aleister Crowley and Tarot Thoth, Tarot of Doors and Tarot of the Age of Aquarius, Tarot of the Dwarves and Tarot of the Elves. They differ not only in the artistic design of the Minor Arcana, but also in the symbolism that the artist put into the Major Arcana. It is assumed that the Ryder-White deck, for example, is universal, but on the Gnomes Tarot it is most convenient to make layouts for questions related to business, finances, career. If you are seriously passionate about Tarot, then the first deck should be chosen as the first love - according the dictates of the heart. Trying to feel the metaphysical connection between you and the cards.

Step 2

Prepare the Tarot for work. In order for the cards to start “telling the truth,” you need to clear them and set them up to work with you. To do this, it is recommended to wrap them, along with a quartz crystal, such as a magic ball, in black silk fabric and place them under the pillow on which you sleep. Thus, it is assumed that you remove from them the energy charge received from other people and, in a dream, you will find inner harmony with "your" deck.

Step 3

Check out the meanings of the cards. All cards have two meanings - in a favorable, upright position and in an unfavorable, inverted position. The cards of the Major Arcana have complex and ambiguous interpretations. The Minor Arcana cards serve more to clarify the situation, so their meanings are more mundane. Pentacles (Coins, Dinarii) denote the elements of the Earth, Cups (Bowls) - Water, Wands - Fire, and Swords - Air. Riders can mean young people, Ladies - women of different ages. Cards may have different meanings in different decks. So the Ace of Wands from different decks can mean trouble, loneliness, family, paternal relatives, work and direction to the South. Find the meaning of the cards from your deck and, at first, check the text.

Step 4

Pick a layout. There are many layouts of tarot cards. They are divided by types - for a person and his environment, for spiritual development and self-knowledge, for love and family, for health, for finances and career, for difficult life situations and general layouts. There are many variations in each type. The layout explains in what order to lay out the cards, which of them answers which question, somehow explains the situation In some layouts only the cards of the Major Arcana are involved, in some the Arcana are shuffled, in others they are laid out separately. First, choose one layout for the general situation and master it perfectly. Then start exploring other layouts.

Step 5

Shuffle cards. Before you start guessing, focus on the deck and mentally clearly formulate the questions you want to get an answer to. If it seems to you that there is no answer to your question, do not ask it. In addition to several special layouts, the one who guesses on them always shuffles the cards. The alignment is a ritual, and those who perform it, in this context, are the priest. If you need something for that extra mood - a crystal ball, incense, music - use that to get you there. If you are not guessing for yourself, it is permissible to ask the person who is asking to "lift" the deck with your left hand, towards yourself. But those who seriously engage in Tarot believe that this is unnecessary, since the one who conducts the ritual, that is, you, should tune in to the questioner.

Step 6

Unfolding cards. Once you've started laying out the cards, don't get distracted. No need to look into any books or cheat sheets. If any card falls out of the deck, it must also be included in the layout. The most popular way to make a layout is the so-called "wash" method. You lay out the cards in a "fan" on the table or other surface, face down, and slowly swiping over them with your hands, choose those cards that seem to "fit" to the layout.

Step 7

Interpretation of maps. Having made the alignment, do not rush to check the meaning of the cards. Listen to your own intuition. Maps are just your guide and guide, do not forget about it.

Pay attention to which suits prevail in the layout?

If in the general scenario there are many cards of the Major Arcana, then a large number of fateful events await. If there are many "pictures" from the Minor Arcana, many people will participate in these events. Once you have a general idea of the layout, start "reading" the cards in more detail. If you feel that the value of the card does not correspond to your hunches, use your intuition as a guide. Don't do a lot of spreads in one day. This is not mechanical work. Guess every day, but one or two hands. Write down the layouts, cards, your interpretation, and the events that followed. This will help you understand where you made a mistake, and where your intuition worked perfectly.
