Step 1
Find like-minded people to organize the reconstruction together. One person cannot handle all the work ahead. Create an organizing committee and share responsibilities. Some of the people will be engaged in the selection of historical material, others can be entrusted with raising funds, the third - the invitation and registration of participants, the fourth - the organization of the everyday aspects of the staged battle.
Step 3
Choose the battle you will be remodeling. This largely depends on the resources at your disposal. For example, a reconstruction of a battle with the participation of cavalry will cost significantly more than the same event with the involvement of foot soldiers. The reconstruction of the battle in the place where it took place in reality can be especially interesting.
Step 4
Collect as much information as possible about the battle being reconstructed. Study monographs and articles by experts on a given topic. Historical sources will also be needed - official documents, memoirs of war veterans, newspaper publications of the corresponding period. When planning reconstructions of battles during the Great Patriotic War, you can personally meet with veterans who are ready to share their memories.

Decide how many participants are needed for the renovation. Distribute roles between them. Difficulties can arise with girls who want to take part in historical battles. In some cases, they can be assigned to male roles. However, there are reconstructions where there are many interesting roles for women. For example, since the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878, the Russian army began to actively use the work of nurses in hospitals. In addition to the battle itself, scenes from the city life of the chosen period can be organized, where there are also suitable roles for women.

Consider how the event will be funded. To do this, make an estimate and calculate how much of the costs will be borne by the participants. Most often they pay for the costumes themselves. In addition, membership fees can be set for ordinary reenactors, from which the cost of food and transport will be paid.
Step 7
Try to find sponsors. For them, the event can be interesting if it attracts the attention of the press. If successful, sponsors can pay a substantial portion of the renovation costs.
Step 8
Contact local authorities and settle the issue with the use of the required plot of land. To do this, submit an official request to the district administration or make an appointment with the head of the municipality in person.
