The cheerful and mischievous hero of the famous fairy tale Astrid Lindgren is liked by modern children no less than their parents and even grandparents once liked. Carlson is especially well portrayed in the Soviet cartoon, so do not be surprised if a child one day asks you to draw exactly him.
Classic proportions are not needed
Carlson (in various translations he is called both Karlsson and even Carleson) is a moderately well-fed man in full bloom. True to the Kid, he seems fat, and to the audience too. His body most of all resembles a ball, to which a pear-shaped head is attached. In this case, the height of the head is almost equal to the height of the body. It is best to start drawing with a ball - on a plane it will be just a circle.
Depending on the angle, Carlson's body may appear oval. For example, if you look at it from an angle. But in any case, the oval will be wide.
Pumpkin head
Carlson's head looks most like a thick long pear or pumpkin. This character has thick cheeks and an elongated crown of head. The easiest way to start drawing it is from the transverse oval, where the cheeks and nose will be located. If Carslon's face is seen at an angle, the oval will be asymmetrical. The cheek, which is closer to the viewer, seems much thicker than the other. The upper part of the face will also be asymmetrical. The head is crowned with disheveled strands. Carlson's chin is thick and almost straight.
The height of the upper part of the oval is approximately one and a half times the short axis of the oval.
Short legs and thick arms
Carlson, like any person, can take a variety of poses. He flies, sits in a chair and even pretends to be a ghost. Accordingly, his arms and legs also assume different positions. Carlson does not differ in powerful shoulders. His arms start almost from the very neck. Indicate their directions. Then draw the arms in parallel, but not very straight lines. The length of the arm is approximately equal to half the height of the body.
The handles end in thick palms with thick fingers, very similar to sausages. This character has a habit of jerking his legs, so that they can be located at the most unexpected angles to the body. Draw two straight lines down from the body. The length of the legs is approximately equal to the length of the arms. Carlson's feet are very small, because he hardly has to walk.
Cheerful eyes, button and propeller
You just have to draw the individual details. Draw a belt - this is an arc through the center of the circle. Its convex part is directed downward. Do not forget about the shoulder strap, this is a very important detail, because there is a large round button on it. A piece of the propeller is visible behind the back.
Draw the hair. Carlson has his hair cut, but not very short. The hairline runs at an angle from the protruding bangs to the small, round ear. Draw a large nose with potatoes. Carlson's eyes are almost round, and above them are high raised bushy eyebrows.
