At the end of October 2008, the premiere of the next video of the most, perhaps, the most eccentric modern singer Lady Gaga took place. The music video for the song “Poker face” was approximately 3.5 minutes long and was filmed in one day.

The music video for Lady Gaga's song "Poker face" was filmed on October 3, 2008. The video was directed by the Norwegian Reinart Olsen, better known under the pseudonym Ray Kay, and the famous Los Angeles photographer Anthony Mandler. Both of them already had experience of this kind, both in terms of short films and communication with capricious artists.

The original idea of the video was a plot inspired by one of the Bond episodes. In Die Another Day, Halle Berry's sexy heroine emerges from the ocean. Lagy Gaga intended to repeat this spectacular release at the beginning of the video, but later the idea was changed. The fact is that the singer, as always, seriously considered her outfit, which is perhaps the most important component of her image. She came to the conclusion that she wanted to wear black shiny latex, which ultimately led to a complete change in the plot.

The beginning of the video "Poker face" resembles a fantastic movie: the calm expanse of the pool is suddenly disturbed by the appearance of a futuristic creature. Lady Gaga appears on the surface, wearing a skin-tight suit and a mirrored mask. On the sides of the pool, two huge mastiffs lie motionless, and around him are white mannequins. The singer takes off her mask and it turns out that she has a golden zipper on her cheek.

The scenes of the video are constantly changing, as are the singer's outfits. She dances by the pool in a blue swimsuit, then in her black jumpsuit finds herself at the poker table, symbolizing the main idea of the song itself. The blue swimsuit changes to white and the dancing continues. Then the girl gets to another party, where the fight in cards goes to undress, and the fun gradually moves to the sofa and begins to turn into an orgy. Of course, the camera no longer shows further, providing a continuation of the viewer's imagination.

The choreographer from Canada Laurienne Gibson was invited to stage the dance of the clip. This girl has worked with many famous singers and bands such as Diddy, JoJo, The Clique girls and others, as well as with the actors of the film "Hanni". Thanks to the work on "Poker Face" Gibson and the singer formed a good tandem for several more videos, and in 2011 Lorienne herself shot a video for Lady Gaga's song "Born this way".

The video for the song "Poker face" was filmed at the Bwin Poker Island Villa in Malibu. The gambling company Bwin provided the equipment, and in return received good advertising. The star was made up by Sharon Gault, costumes and accessories were provided by Antonio Berardi, Mike Feeney and Brian Lichtenberg, shoes by Givenchy.

On October 29, 2008, the video was released for the first time, but the official premiere of the video took place in February 2009 on one of the British music TV channels. There are as many as seven versions of this video. They differ in duration due to the removal of some scenes and words from the text. The main version is accompanied by a voice insert "mum-mum-mum-ma", while the other versions contain the words "muffin", "gun" and "russian".
