In spring, when warm winter clothes are no longer suitable for the weather, but the real warmth has not yet arrived, you may need a knitted demi-season hat, which will give you comfort and coziness even in cool spring weather. There are two ways to knit such a hat. It all depends on whether you want a tight-fitting hat or a loose beret.
Instructions
Step 1
To knit a tight spring hat size 55-56, take 250 meters of yarn and a crochet hook of the appropriate diameter. From beginning to end, knit the hat with single crochets, knitting the loops behind the back wall.
Step 2
Crochet four stitches and knit seven single crochet into the last stitch from the hook. Continue to knit in a circle, first in one direction and then in the other, adding seven single crochets in each row. Work ten rows in this way so that in the last round you have 70 single crochets.
Step 3
From now on, knit with increments, adding increments through the row and knitting ten increments in the front row. Alternate between regular rows and rows with increments until the width of the cap is half the circumference of the head. Measure the width of the cap with a centimeter to track this moment.
Step 4
Knit the next rows in a row without adding loops. Continue knitting an even round fabric until you have raised the hat you want. When the height is sufficient, tie the edge of the hat with single crochets behind the back wall and make a couple of circles in a spiral.
Step 5
You can knit not only a tight-fitting hat, but also a beret - you also need to start knitting it from the top of the head, typing five air loops. Close the loops in the ring and make three more air loops for lifting. Tie an air loop with eleven single crochet stitches, and then make three lifting loops again.
Step 6
Add twelve single crochet stitches in each subsequent circular row. When the flat circle, tied in a spiral, reaches a diameter of 23 cm, knit another 6 cm of the fabric without increasing, and then begin to decrease the loops, narrowing the fabric. Try on the beret and, if the size suits you, tie the inner edge with single crochets behind the back wall.
