It is necessary

  • - a sheet of thick paper;
  • - a piece of plywood;
  • - flat file;
  • - jigsaw;
  • - glue.

Instructions

Step 1

Draw a blueprint first. On a sheet of thick paper, draw squares with a side of 50 mm and transfer the contours of the boomerang onto them. Try to make it completely symmetrical - when adding the drawing along the OA line, the shoulders of the boomerang should match.

Step 2

Then take a piece of plywood and use rubber glue to attach the cutout template so that the outer layers of the plywood are perpendicular to the OA line. Then use a jigsaw to cut the boomerang along the outline.

Step 3

Using a vernier caliper and a flat file, work one side of the workpiece so that the plywood thickness gradually decreases from the middle to the ends. Only one side is processed, the other must remain flat.

Step 4

Next comes the most crucial stage - profiling. From tin or thin plywood, in accordance with the drawing, cut out counter-patterns for each section. Then take a semicircular or flat file, profile the surface and sand it. Round off the sharp edges. Pay special attention to handling the shoulders of the future boomerang, because its flying qualities will depend on it.

Step 5

Check how balanced the boomerang is. To do this, hang him by the middle (along the OA axis) and see if one of his shoulders outweighs. If one shoulder is heavier than the other, it is necessary to identify the cause and correct the imprecision.

Step 6

At the end of the work, when all sides are balanced, you can try the boomerang. To keep the item bright, cover it with paint and apply a beautiful pattern.
