Mankind was repeatedly predicted a quick death as a result of the end of the world; the list of only the most famous apocalyptic prophecies has more than a hundred dates. Some seers limited themselves to general descriptions of cataclysms, while others, on the contrary, described the coming end of the world in every detail.
Instructions
Step 1
Almost all prophecies about the end of the world can be divided into three large groups. The first group claims that humanity will die as a result of its own destructive activities. It could be a world nuclear war, a man-made disaster, the use of bacteriological weapons, or a scientific experiment out of control.
Step 2
In addition, one of the scenarios for the death of humanity is famine associated with overpopulation of the planet. Finally, the "human" options for the end of the world include gloomy environmental prophecies concerning global warming, ozone depletion, lack of oxygen as a result of deforestation and air pollution.
Step 3
The second group of doomsday scenarios includes various kinds of natural phenomena that, in the event of an unsuccessful development of events, can lead to global cataclysms and even the death of all living things. First of all, such phenomena include earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, the rapid spread of new viruses and bacteria, and abrupt climatic changes.
Step 4
We must not forget about cosmic hazards, which include meteorites, comets, ultraviolet radiation, magnetic storms, solar flares. And the Sun itself will sooner or later simply cool down, bringing eternal night and cold to the planet. However, scientists assure that there are still about five billion years before this inevitable event. The possibility of an attack by hostile aliens should not be ruled out, since there is no reliable information that humanity is the only intelligent form of life in the Universe.
Step 5
The third group includes phenomena of a mystical nature associated with the activities of higher powers. In these cases, prophecies, as a rule, are limited to general mentions, leaving the aggressive-minded god or gods to decide the "technical" side of the issue on their own.
Step 6
In general, the end of the world should be a complex of events leading to the death of approximately 90% of the Earth's population, as well as irreparably changing the conditions of life on the planet. Even if the surviving representatives of the human race remain in the world, in any case, they will have to not only confront the changed conditions and solve demographic problems, but also retrace the path of scientific and technological development, so that human civilization in the existing sense will still come to an end.
Step 7
However, despite the huge number of frightening prophecies and predictions of scientists, so far none of them have come true, which gives humanity a certain chance of survival in the future.
