To learn how to play the guitar well, it is necessary to master not only the staging of chords in the left hand, but also the basic techniques of playing the right. Perhaps the first technique of sound production that a novice guitarist encounters is overkill. In classical terminology, this technique is called arpeggio.
It is necessary
- - guitar;
- - sheet music for guitar.
Instructions
Step 1
Get familiar with finger markings. The fingers of the left hand are designated by the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4. The unit is the index finger, the two, the three and the four are the middle, ring and little fingers, respectively. In the six-string guitar notes, the thumb is not indicated in any way. In staging chords on the neck of a seven-string guitar, the thumb sometimes participates and is indicated by a cross.
Step 2
The fingers of the right hand are designated by the Latin letters p, i, m, a. These are the first letters of Spanish names, p is the thumb. The rest are index, middle and unnamed. The little finger is rarely used, so it is not found in all notes. But in general, it is denoted by the letter e. In some notes, the fingers of the right hand are indicated by strokes or dots. The thumb in this system corresponds to a cross, the rest - one, two or three strokes or dots.
Step 3
Learn notation for strings and frets. The strings are designated with ordinary Arabic numerals, starting with the thinnest one. As a rule, in notes, string numbers are written in circles. Frets are designated by Roman numerals. Numbering starts from the headstock.
Step 4
Enumeration may not be indicated in the notes by any special signs. It is simply written a sequence of notes that must be followed using the specified fingering. If you're just starting out with sheet music, learn a few of these kinds of exercises - all beginner books have them.
Step 5
Enumeration can be indicated. For example, there is a certain chord in notes or digital signatures, and next to it there is an icon in the form of a vertical arrow with a wavy "tail". It can be just a vertical wavy line, or a half-arc. The direction of the arrow also indicates the direction of the search. That is, if the arrowhead points up, take the lowest sound first (that is, the one on the thickest string used). As a rule, it is taken with the thumb of the right hand. Take the following sounds sequentially, upward, with your index, middle and ring fingers.
Step 6
The arrow pointing downward indicates “reverse firing” or “reverse arpeggio”. In this case, the highest sound is taken first. As a rule, it is taken with the ring finger of the right hand. The following sounds are again played sequentially from top to bottom. The arpeggio ends with the lowest sound you pick with your right thumb.
