Start knitting a hat by calculating the required number of loops. To do this, tie a sample and count the loops in 1 centimeter. Measure the circumference of the child's head and multiply the resulting volume by the number of loops obtained. Example: head circumference - 30 centimeters, in 1 cm − 3 loops, it turns out 30x4 = 90 loops.
Step 2
Take long knitting needles, cast 40 loops on them and knit the back of the head with a tight elastic band, making additions in every fourth row on both sides along the loop. After four additions, there should be 48 stitches on the needles. Change to circular needles by casting an additional 42 stitches.
Step 3
Knit in a 3 cm circular elastic band and move to the main pattern. It can be braids, plaits, English elastic - any pattern you like. The "English gum" pattern is quite popular. The knitting pattern is simple - knit the first row with front loops: knit one loop, make a yarn, remove the second loop without knitting, repeat the report to the end of the row. Knit the second row with purl loops: start with the yarn over, then put the loop from the left knitting needle onto the right knitting needle, without knitting, knit the yarn over and knit the un-knitted loop together with the purl.
Step 4
Tie all subsequent rows according to the pattern. This pattern gives relief and splendor to the product. Knitting density 28 loops and 33 rows = 10x10 centimeters. Knit 14 centimeters in the main pattern and begin to make subtractions. Knit every 10 and 11 stitches together. When 40-30 stitches remain on the needles, pull them onto a thread. Since the hat is winter, it must be double.
Step 5
Cast from the inside out, from the last row of dense elastic, loops in a circle and knit the bottom hat with the front satin stitch, observing the same dimensions. Make a pompom from the remaining yarn, sew it on by connecting the top and bottom hats. Sew on the ties. The double winter hat is ready. Wash it in cold water and rinse to soften the coat. Dry gently with a towel. Dry flat, placing on the bottom.
