The remnants of patterned fabrics will make a wonderful applique for a decorative pillow. The motive of the applique can be anything. Cut the trunk of a stylized tree from a dark fabric, and leaves from multi-colored scraps. Arrange them around the trunk in a crown shape. Baste the elements of the composition with basting stitches to the fabric of the pillowcase, and then sew on a typewriter with a regular stitch, retreating from the edge of the element about 3-5 mm. The unevenness of the stitching will not spoil the impression of the finished pillow, but, on the contrary, will emphasize its handmade. Remove the basting and iron the finished applique.
