Step 1

Choose paper for the snowflake. The main requirement for it is a certain density. Paper for the printer will be optimal. The thicker one is problematic to fold several times, and the thinner one breaks. The color of the material is not limited by anything. If you prefer a non-standard approach to business, you can even use double-sided tape on a regular white sheet of foil.

Step 2

Cut a square out of paper. Expand it so that the corners line up with the vertical and horizontal axes in front of you. Fold the sheet in half, placing the left side of the diamond over the right. Bend the resulting triangle in half again - from bottom to top.

Step 3

On this template, draw the outline of the future snowflake. There can be many variations. The main thing is not to violate the integrity of the fold lines, which are located on the lower and left sides of the triangular workpiece. When you unfold the snowflake, they become its rays. Reserve a few more rays between them - draw lines from the left corner of the triangle to its right side. The distance between the lines must be the same.

Step 4

In order for the rays to be connected into one whole, draw "bridges" between them - short segments abutting against two adjacent rays at the same level. Fill the rest of the space with patterns of any shape.

Step 5

Save successful patterns as a template. Fold the snowflake into a triangle and transfer all the lines and holes to cardboard of the same shape. Label the left, right and bottom sides of the diagram. Cut out the pattern with a dummy knife.

Step 6

If you are tired of similar shapes of snowflakes, try to make an unusual one - volumetric. Prepare squares of paper of the same size. Fold the first square diagonally. Rotate the resulting triangle so that the fold line is at the bottom. Draw a line from the center of the fold to the opposite vertex of the triangle.

Step 7

Divide the left half of the figure into several equal parts with segments (3-5 pieces), parallel to the side. Each segment should start at the fold line and not reach the central axis by 3 mm. Draw the same lines on the right half of the triangle. Use scissors to cut the paper along these lines. Expand the workpiece.

Step 8

As a result, rhombuses of different sizes "inscribed" in the sheet should appear in front of you. Take the top and bottom corners of the smallest diamond in the center. Place the vertices on top of each other and secure them with glue or a stapler. Turn the workpiece over and carry out the same operation on the second rhombus from the center. Continue holding the shapes together, turning the paper over each time.

Step 9

Make five more of the same blanks. Connect them like petals, holding them together with the lower corners. Glue the adjoining sides too, so that the voluminous snowflake keeps its shape.
