In orderly ranks, the ranks of soldiers are brought into battle. Smoke, fumes, claps of shots and the screams of the wounded … In order to participate in such a battle, you do not need to go to the military registration and enlistment office, it is enough to make a company of tin soldiers. It will take a little patience and skillful hands to recreate an episode from a real historical battle on your desk.

Instructions
Step 1
Prepare a mold for casting soldiers. The classic is considered to be collapsible, consisting of two plaster or silicone parts. In the simplest case, the mold can be squeezed into the ground, but it is more convenient to use a special silicone sealant. Several dozen castings can be made in such a matrix. The advantage of a sealant mold is that it allows back corners to be cast without damaging the mold. Since particularly complex shapes can have multiple parts (arms, head, armor, weapons, and so on), multiple shapes may be needed.
Step 2
Make a master model. Use epoxy or plastic for this. Provide gating channels in the model, make them from wire and attach to the figure's leg. If the future sculpture has significant dimensions, first make a wire frame for it, apply the material on it in layers. Of course, the quality of the miniature will largely depend on your artistic skills.
Step 3
Put the master model of the future product in the mold and fill it with liquid sealant for several hours. The result is a resilient shape already for repeated use, very accurately repeating the outlines of the original.
Step 4
Pour tin pre-melted on the stove into the matrix and wait until the metal hardens (the hardening time depends on the size of the sculpture). Then open the mold and take out the casting. The foundry part of the work has been completed.
Step 5
Cut the molded figure with nippers, a file and a scalpel. Also use a soldering iron if necessary. Be careful and patient, the quality of work depends on your ability to bring the product to a perfect look. Pay special attention to small details, which should be worked out most carefully.
Step 6
After finishing the figurine, proceed to the artistic part of the work. Paint the sculpture with paints, trying to recreate the features of the uniforms of the country and era to which the soldier belongs. It is recommended to use acrylic and tempera dyes. Before applying paint, degrease the figurine and cover with primer to keep the coating stronger. In some cases, detailed drawing of the details takes weeks of painstaking work.
