Appearing in the distant X century, in the Middle Ages, stained glass windows fascinated and continue to fascinate people to this day. The indescribable play of colored reflection, the airiness that they conveyed to the Gothic castles and temples, as if directed into the sky, are still fascinating. The art of stained glass has survived to this day, and the emergence of new techniques and materials has made stained glass very popular in the interior of a modern home.

Step 1
Kids games
The easiest way to make a colored glass image is to buy stained glass paints. They are sold in the creative departments, especially a lot of children's stained glass paints. It's easy even for a child to work with them. Take glass, ceramic tiles, or even an ordinary plastic file, and put a stained glass drawing under it. Apply the outline from a tube of outline paint. It is necessary to let it dry a little and then carefully fill it with colored transparent paints for the stained-glass window. Such kits for creativity usually come with a stained glass pattern.
When the stained-glass window is completely dry, it can be easily detached from the base and re-glued to another. For example, decorate the tile in the bathroom or stick it on the window in the nursery. You can re-glue it many times. However, the main disadvantage of such paints is that they fade quickly.
Step 2
Bulk method
This method is the best alternative to the classical method, which is too time consuming and harmful, because lead is used for it. The essence of the method is to independently create the contour and paints. Such a stained-glass window looks like a real one, but is devoid of its heaviness and looks aesthetically pleasing even upon close examination. The outline is made of high quality PVA, silver and black ink for a lead color. The consistency should be like that of liquid sour cream, if necessary, dilute with water. It is necessary to apply the contour with a squirrel or kolinsky brush quickly, and keep in mind that the more the paint costs, the more its color changes.
While the outline is drying, you can do the paint for filling. To get a transparent colored varnish for pouring, you need to pour 30 ml of nitro varnish (NC) into a small glass jar and dilute it with solvent 647 to a very liquid state. Put oil art paint from a tube of the desired color into this jar. It is necessary to pour paint between the contours, without missing a single mm. Better even to go to the contour. The glass should lie on the table strictly horizontally so that the paints spread evenly.
When the fill is dry, you need to draw the path again to hide the edges of the fill.
It remains only to cover this work of art with three coats of colorless nitro varnish from a spray gun. After drying, the stained glass window is ready.
