Almost every modern home has a TV and the accompanying equipment - VCRs, DVD players, speakers, and much more. For television equipment, it is convenient to use a special cabinet in which you can also store CDs with films and videotapes. You can buy such a cabinet, or you can save money and apply your creativity to making a TV cabinet with your own hands.

It is necessary

  • - laminated chipboard,
  • - glass,
  • - screws,
  • - PVA joiner's glue,
  • - decorative edging,
  • - furniture wheels.

Instructions

Step 1

For the bedside table, use a durable laminated chipboard for furniture assembly, 16 mm thick. Draw up drawings of the nightstand parts, determine the dimensions of each part, and purchase materials according to the dimensions. Use 4 mm glass for the inner shelves of the cabinet. You will also need furniture screws, PVA wood glue, decorative edging and furniture wheels.

Step 2

Mark out the chipboard sheets on the parts and cut them out with a hacksaw or jigsaw, adding 3-4 mm per cutting line to each measurement. Parts with arcuate rounded edges first cut out in the form of rectangles, and then transfer the fillet line to the edge of the part using tracing paper and carefully cut the arc with a hacksaw.

Step 3

Make sure that the ends are perpendicular to the planes of the parts and that they are flat. All parts, if you are using non-laminated chipboard, must be sanded - glue fine sandpaper on a block of wood and sand the surface several times in a row. After preparing the surface of the chipboard, mark the holes and drill them. All holes must be at least 40 mm to the edge of the part. Select the drill diameter for holes depending on the diameter of the dowels.

Step 4

If you are assembling a bedside table from laminated chipboard, you do not need to prepare the surface; if you take an ordinary chipboard, additionally cover the details of the bedside table with Whatman paper using PVA glue, and then paint the Whatman paper with several layers of black paint. Cover the ends of the parts with special laminated edging tape, which can be found in building materials and furniture accessories stores. This tape is glued to the parts with an iron through the paper. Paint the surface of the parts.

Step 5

After all the parts are ready, clean the holes in the parts and go directly to the assembly - fasten the parts with dowels and wood glue. Also use furniture screws for assembly. After installing the side walls, the bottom and the top of the bedside table, secure the parts at the back by installing the back.

Step 6

Measure all angles - they should be exactly 90 degrees. At the bottom of the bedside table at the corners, attach four furniture wheels.

Step 7

Insert the fasteners for the shelves into the holes pre-drilled from the inside of the bedside tables, and also screw the hinges for the doors to the walls. Install glass shelves and doors with handles. Decorate the bedside table with a finishing profile. The TV cabinet is ready.
