The silver chain is a wonderful piece of jewelry for many women and men. Situations arise when a favorite chain needs to be restored after a break. How to deal with this situation and who to contact?

Step 1
Contact a jeweler and he will solder the silver chain in a few minutes if available. The cost of such pleasure is low, however, many jewelers refuse to take on this job. This is explained by the low pay for their labor in soldering silver items. The scope of work is equivalent to the gold soldering procedure.
Step 2
Solder the chain yourself if it is not filigree. This will require a regular soldering iron and tin. For processing, you will need a flux and a file.
Step 3
Heat very well welded parts of the chain. Take a fine-sharpened soldering iron tip and silver solder PSR2, 5 or PSR2. These are refractory solders operating at a heating temperature of 240 degrees. Use the mounting tweezers to pinch and hold the parts.
Step 4
Wash the sealed area from the flux with alcohol. After this procedure, it will not be seen that the silver chain has been sealed. The described method is one of the simplest and most inexpensive.
Step 5
Use SMD soldering if you are ready for certain expenses. Soldering of parts of the silver chain is carried out by semiautomatic devices or automatic machines using soldering layers with a high silver content.
Step 6
Apply the required amount of paste to the previously prepared surface of the chain parts to be soldered. Heat the place of the future soldering with an industrial hair dryer to the temperature specified in the instructions for use of the paste.
Step 7
Remember to adjust the airflow to avoid blowing the paste off the product. Silver chain solder paste can be purchased from a jeweler as it is not sold to private individuals.
Step 8
Be sure to contact a jeweler if there are stones in your chain. Self-sealing can damage them. Only high-quality diamonds, rubies and sapphires, as well as many synthetic stones (cubic zirconia, for example), can withstand the soldering temperature.
