Step 1
A braid scarf can be made from 3 or more stripes woven together.
Before starting work, tie 3 strips of small length as a sample, so that they can be weaved together in about three to four plexuses. This will allow you to make measurements and calculate the required number of loops for knitting strips.
Step 2
Type on the needles the number of loops required in width for one strip. Knit a strip as long as you plan to make a scarf and plus 5 - 10 centimeters for a loss of length when weaving the strips into a braid. In a similar way, knit the second and third strips.
Step 3
Wash the finished strips in warm soapy water (you can use special detergents for washing wool to soften the knits). Lay out the wet strips on a horizontal surface and leave to dry completely.
Step 4
Fold the dried strips so that the knitting direction is the same for them. Then fasten the ends of the strips together with pins. For the convenience of weaving, you can fix them on a sofa cushion. Weave a braid without pulling on the stripes. You can additionally straighten the strips with your hands so that they lie in one plane. Do not twist.
Step 5
During weaving, the position of the stripes in the braid can be fixed with pins. Weaving the strips into a braid to the end, also use pins to connect the ends of the strips along the braid pattern.
Step 6
Now sew the ends of the braid (stripes between each other) on your hands. Additionally, you can fasten the stripes in the braid, also stitching them on the hands in the weave places. Additionally, you can decorate the ends of the scarf with small tassels or one large brush on each side.
