Non-woven is increasingly used. It is made from non-woven materials. Non-woven fabric allows you to sew clothes so that parts that experience significant stress during wear and maintenance do not deform. These are mainly collars, cuffs, all kinds of valves and straps. Recently, this material began to be used in construction for finishing work.
It is necessary
- - non-woven fabric;
- - product detail;
- - iron;
- - water.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a non-woven fabric. It can be adhesive and non-adhesive, and the use of one type or another depends on the purpose of the product. Adhesive non-woven, in turn, is divided into several types. It can be with a pasty or dotted coating, as well as thread-stitched. In terms of color, the choice is small. Available in black and white interlining.
Step 2
Use non-woven adhesive for garments made from lightweight fabrics. It has a special adhesive layer that allows you to attach it to the part. In order to get a flat gasket, apply a few tricks.
Step 3
There are two ways to cut out a non-woven gasket. Place a piece on a piece of this material and trace, then cut the spacer along the contour. Small details can not be outlined, but cut off later, after gluing.
Step 4
Moisten the non-woven fabric slightly. Apply it with a glue layer to the wrong side of the part, aligning all the cuts, and iron it with an iron. Remember that non-woven fabric is temperature sensitive. Set the iron adjuster to the mark for the base fabric.
Step 5
You can iron the gasket in any way - on the front side of the fabric, on the non-woven fabric or through a rag. With the latter method, it is best to use gauze in one layer. It is necessary to ensure that the gasket adheres evenly over the entire area of the part. Iron each area several times. Avoid gathering and wrinkling. If the part is large, the non-woven fabric can be pre-swept. It is undesirable to pin with pins, since in these places the fabric can come off.
Step 6
Where it is impossible to use adhesive interfacing, non-adhesive is used. It is harder and holds its shape better. Therefore, they are reinforced with details of clothing made of dense fabrics, such as raincoat fabric, drape, and so on. The difference between the front and back sides is almost imperceptible to the eye, but you can tell with your fingers that one side is completely smooth and the other is slightly rough. It is not glued, but sewn to the seamy side of the part.
Step 7
Such non-woven fabric is very well suited for embroidery on fabric that stretches and generally does not hold its shape well. In this case, it is simply hovered along with the base. For embroidery, you can also use glue interlining. This is done in the same way as when strengthening parts. The gasket can be glued either to the entire piece of fabric or along the contour of the pattern.
