Weaving items from newspaper tubes is becoming an extremely popular hobby these days. The technique used in this type of needlework remains the same as for weaving from a vine. Only there is no need to search for material, because it is always at hand.
It is necessary
- - newsprint or glossy magazine
- - bamboo sticks
- - scissors
- - paper glue
Instructions
Step 1
To begin with, take a wide double sheet of paper, fold in the middle along the fold, fold perpendicular to the first fold again. The newspaper is immediately cut along this fold.
Step 2
Both parts obtained are folded one on top of the other and folded in half again. All of this is cut along the fold to create strips for curling.
Step 3
One strip of newspaper is placed on the table and a bamboo stick is applied to its corner. In order not to use a large amount of paper, while still receiving a short tube, you should not twist it strictly diagonally. A sharp angle is the best choice for stick placement.
Step 4
The tube is twisted, completely wrapped around the stick. The tube will be firm where the stick ends, as many layers of paper will go there.
Step 5
The corner of the paper at the end of the tube is greased with glue and glued to the tube.
Step 6
In the second case (with a different method), the stick from the curled material is systematically pulled out (though not completely) in order to be able to roll the paper around it again and again.
Step 7
Before you start making crafts from newspaper tubes, they need to be painted. For this, acrylic paint of the desired color is diluted in a vessel with water. The tube is placed on cellophane and painted on one side with a sponge. Since acrylic paint dries almost instantly, the tube can be flipped over and painted on the other side.
