Unwanted waste paper accumulated at home can be turned into a cute basket for useful little things. Moreover, often products made from newspaper tubes are very similar to real baskets woven from a vine.
It is necessary
- - newspapers magazines;
- - ruler;
- - stationery knife;
- - spoke;
- - PVA glue;
- - acrylic paints;
- - water-based varnish;
- - any container (as a form for weaving).
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the tubes for weaving. Cut newspaper and magazine sheets into long strips 5 to 9 cm wide. The wider the strip, the thicker the tubes will be.
Step 2
Roll up the tubes. Lay the strip at an angle towards you, attach a metal knitting needle to the bottom corner and start twisting a tight tube, holding the workpiece with your fingers. Drop a little PVA glue on the corner and fix the tip of the tube, remove the knitting needle. The tube should be uneven: thinner at one end, thicker at the other.
Step 3
For weaving, rather long tubes are needed, so combine several into one. To do this, grease the thin tip with PVA glue and insert it into another tube (in its thicker side). Do not make the blanks too long, as it will be quite difficult to weave from them. The tubes can be built up in a similar way during the weaving of the basket.
Step 4
Paint the parts with acrylic paints in the desired colors. Let the paint dry. Sometimes it is necessary to apply multiple layers so that the typographic type is not visible.
Step 5
After the paint has dried, proceed directly to weaving. Start at the bottom. Take 8 straws. Divide them into 2 parts of 4 tubes each and fold them perpendicular to each other.
Step 6
Take one tube, fold it in half and wrap 4 blanks with it on any side where it is more convenient for you. This will be a working tube that will need to braid the base.
Step 7
Braid the base with a working tube of eight, that is, one part of the tube on top, the other on the bottom. When braiding the next side of the base, on the contrary, the part that was on top should be located under the tubes of the base, and the part that was below should braid on top, and so on. Perform 3-4 circles in this way, depending on the size of the future basket.
Step 8
Now divide the base into 2 tubes in each part and move them apart at an equal distance between the resulting rays. Braid the base with a working tube to the required bottom size.
Step 9
Take shape. This can be any plastic bucket, glass vase, or a simple plastic bottle. Place the mold on the bottom. To make it more convenient to work and the structure does not move, put a load in the mold.
Step 10
Bend the base tubes up and separate them one at a time - this will create racks. Braid each of them with a working tube of eight, as described above, to the required size. Then pull out the mold. If the length of the tube is not enough, put a little PVA glue inside the tip and insert the next blank.
Step 11
Decorate the edge of the basket. Bend the stand to the right, turn it behind the next one and push the extra tip between the working tubes along the wall of the product. Do all the racks in the same way. Carefully cut off all excess with a clerical knife and hide in the weaving.
Step 12
Cover the basket with two coats of water-based varnish. Moreover, the previous layer should dry well before applying the next one.
