Step 1
The hat-helmet consists of several parts. Start from the front. Cast on 32 sts on the needles and knit 4 rows of garter stitch (knit in knit rows, purl in purl rows). Continue knitting, adding 1 point in every second row. Do the additions before and after the 3 extreme loops. There should be 52 stitches in total. Set aside knitting. The backrest is made in the same way.
Step 2
Continue to work, knitting the side parts, there should also be two of them. Cast on 52 stitches, knit 4 rows in garter stitch. Continue knitting with the front satin stitch, while knitting the three outermost loops on each side with garter stitch. Continue knitting, decreasing 1 st on each side before and after the 3 outermost loops. Knit until you have 32 stitches left, then set aside knitting.
Step 3
Now assemble all four pieces into circular knitting needles. The order should be as follows: the back, then the side part, then the front and the second side half. Knit the first row with the front satin stitch, evenly decreasing the loops. In total, you need to subtract 38 loops, 126 loops should remain in the work. Continue knitting with 1 * 1 elastic to a height of 3 cm.
Step 4
Next, knit with an elastic band 2 * 2 - this is the beginning of the hat itself. Knit 3 cm in a circle - until the cutout for the face, subtract the middle 10 sts. Continue knitting on regular knitting needles, subtracting 1 st on each side in each purl row. Knit with an elastic band 2 * 2, and reduce the loops according to the principle of the front and back - before and after the last 3 loops. After decreasing the loop, knit with garter stitch. In total, 34 loops should remain on the needles, the height of the canvas should be 24 cm. Set aside the work.
Step 5
Tie a ponytail to decorate the hat. To do this, transfer to the circular knitting needles 34 sts left earlier, dial 46 sts from the top insert, continue knitting with an elastic band 2 * 2. Reduce the loops in each 5th row, knit 3 sts together. The center decrease loop is the former edging front.
Step 6
Sew the top piece into the cap. Make a ponytail pompom. Gather all the parts together, sew the sides, front and back, pull off the remaining loops with a thread.
