The knotted weaving technique - macrame has been known since ancient times. This technique was mastered by the masters of Ancient Egypt, Assyria, Peru, Greece, China. Nowadays, this type of needlework is becoming popular again and for good reason, because from nondescript ropes with the help of knots, you can create a wide variety of decorations, pots, napkins, panels, wallets, handbags and even clothes.
It is necessary
- - rope;
- - scissors;
- - needle;
- - ruler;
- - pillow;
- - pins.
Instructions
Step 1
For weaving using the macrame technique, use linen and hemp ropes, twine, cotton, synthetic or silk threads, sisal or flat braid, as well as strips of leather and woolen yarn. The main condition is that the material for weaving is pliable, moderately twisted, but very strong.
Step 2
To get started, practice knitting simple knots. The main one is the so-called Herculean knot. To do this, you need 2 strands of 10 centimeters each. Lay them upright on a pillow. Secure the end of each strand with pins. Bring the right thread under the left thread, and the left thread from bottom to top into the resulting loop. Tighten the knot. Do the next knot in the same way.
Step 3
For the first flat knot, fasten 2 strands in the middle of the warp. The extreme threads are workers, the two threads in the middle are the warp. Bring the right working thread over the warp and under the left working loop, and put the left thread under the warp and under the loop. Tighten the knot. If we weave knots in this sequence, we get a twisted chain, and if we change the position of the threads in each knot, we get a square flat knot.
Step 4
Having mastered the simplest knots, move on to more complex and interesting ones. For example, try making a Gourmet knot. Secure 2 strands at the warp and knot in the following sequence second-first-second or first-second-first.
Step 5
For a knot called "Chameleon", secure 2 strands at the base and tie one square knot. Then swap the working threads and warp. With the warp threads that have become workers, make another square knot. Such a pattern looks very nice if it is made of threads of two contrasting colors. By combining the listed knots, you can weave the simplest product: a bauble or a planter for a flower pot.
