These amazing colors have one drawback. They can please the eye for a long time in a flower garden, but they do not last long in a vase. But why cut tulips? A piece of summer can be brought into the house if you just paint the flowers. The ability to paint different flowers can come in handy in other cases. If you want to go with your child on a "research expedition" to the nearest park or decide to embroider flowers, your skills will be in demand. But first, it's better to draw a tulip with a pencil.

Step 1
To get started, you need to look very closely at the subject, in this case the tulip flower. You can get a job drawing next to a flower bed, but then you need a tablet. An easel is not required, you can take a large hard folder. What does a flower look like the most? What is the shape of its petals? How many are there and how are they located? The tulip has a rather thick elastic stem and long sharp leaves.
Step 2
Determine the location of the drawing on the sheet. Draw a construction centerline. On it, you will draw a stem a little later. Draw a line at the base of the flower perpendicular to this line. The tulip flower resembles a bowl with high edges or a vase, so it is more convenient to draw in the same sequence as a vase is drawn.
Step 3
Estimate the ratio of the flower's width to height. You can draw a tall rectangle with construction lines. The tulip bud "fits" into the shape of a high trapezoid, in which the lower base is narrower than the upper one. In a trapezoid, into which a strongly opened flower can be "inscribed", the upper base will be longer than the lower one. Round the bottom corners.
Step 4
Take a close look at the location of the petals. They overlap with each other. Mark them with construction lines. In this case, the upper line turns out to be wavy, small notches are formed at the junctions of the petals. Draw a rounded line from the notch to where the petal meets the peduncle. Do the same on the other side of the flower.
Step 5
Draw the stem. Determine its proportions. It is even along its entire length, but does not have to be perfectly straight. The tulip has few leaves, but they are very large. Determine their position and draw a few.
Step 6
It is necessary to give the tulip a shape. To do this, take a softer pencil. It is most convenient to convey the shape in different directions and with different shading pressure. The parts of the flower closest to you will appear lighter than those farther away. The shading with which you convey the rounded shape of the petals can run parallel to the rounded lines. It will be slightly darker at the bottom than at the top. Apply chiaroscuro gradually, starting with light, then darker. Do not use an eraser to highlight specific areas.
