Lyudmila Pavlovna Filatova (born October 6, 1935, Orenburg, RSFSR, USSR) - Soviet and Russian opera singer (mezzo-soprano), teacher. People's Artist of the USSR (1983-01-07).
Biography
She was born on October 6, 1935 in Orenburg.
She graduated from a music school in piano, in addition to general education, where she studied in mathematics, drama and choir circles, performed in concerts.
In 1958 she graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Leningrad State University. She began to sing in the choir of the university. In 1957-1970. took singing lessons from EB Antik.
After graduating from Leningrad State University, in 1958 she was admitted by competition to the choir of the Leningrad Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. Kirov. For two years she mastered not only all the choral parts of the theater's extensive repertoire, but also prepared many leading solo parts of the mezzo-soprano repertoire.
In 1960, at the First All-Union Competition. M. I. Glink won
first place and the only gold medal (in the group of male voices, the first place was not awarded).
The victory in the competition determined the entire subsequent creative destiny of Filatova. At the Kirov Theater, she is enrolled in a group of soloists trainees of the opera troupe, and after a brilliant debut in Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades (Polina) and Werther Massenet (Charlotte), she is approved as one of the leading soloists of the theater (since 1962).
Since then, she has performed more than 60 leading solo parts on the theater stage. In addition, her repertoire includes more than 500 chamber and vocal-symphonic works. Lyudmila Filatova's deep and full-sounding mezzo-soprano sounded not only throughout the former Soviet Union, but also in many countries of Europe, Asia and North America, invariably captivating both connoisseurs and vocal lovers.
Since 1958 - artist of the choir, since 1960 - trainee, since 1962 - soloist of the Leningrad Opera and Ballet Theater.
The concert repertoire includes works by Russian, foreign and Soviet composers (more than 500 chamber and vocal-symphonic works).
