When shooting portraits, it is important for the photographer to catch the expression in the eyes. But even apart from the face, close-up, they become an excellent subject for the frame and a limitless source of inspiration for photographers. Several techniques used when taking pictures of the eyes.
Instructions
Step 1
Do not use the flash, especially the one built into the camera. Adjust other light sources so that the eyes are clearly visible. Aim the rays so that you don't see wrinkles on the lower eyelids (there are wrinkles in 20-year-old models too!).
Step 2
Use macro or super macro modes. In normal (portrait or, moreover, panoramic) mode, the eyes will not get into focus if you bring the camera close or zoom in.
Step 3
Take pictures of the eyes not only together, but also one at a time. As you know, the right and left parts of the human body are only ALMOST symmetrical. The upper eyelid of one of the eyes may be slightly drooping, the color of the iris is often different.
Step 4
Try different angles: frontal, side, three-quarters. Take a few shots in each. Before each movement, adjust the white balance and select a position in which the model's imperfections (the same wrinkles) are not visible. Move and light sources.
Step 5
Don't shy away from makeup, even for male models. Eyeliner and mascara enhance the shape and expression of the eyes. Give preference to cosmetics that are washed off with water, so as not to suffer from getting rid of makeup.
Step 6
Since the background is almost irrelevant, shoot indoors. This will make it easier to adjust the lighting, and the wind will not blow into the model's eyes, causing tears.
