Representatives of other professions often consider actors to be almost celestials. Those who go on stage or watch from the screen admire, envy them, talk about them. Many dream of being in their place, without even thinking that they could also become actors if they try hard. Acting skills can and should be developed.
It is necessary
- - vocal teacher;
- - dance teacher;
- - theatre studio;
- - books on the history of theater,
- - classic literature;
- - video recordings from performances and rehearsals.
Instructions
Step 1
Soberly assess your capabilities. It is likely that you already possess some of the qualities an actor needs. If you sing well, dance well, have excellent diction, or know how to make dolls and act out small scenes with them, you already have something to start from. Anyone who does not know how to do anything like this should not be upset either. There is a lot you can learn, including on your own.
Step 2
A drama theater actor, first of all, must be able to speak beautifully. If there are any speech defects, try to get rid of them. Things will go much faster if you see a good speech therapist. Small flaws can be corrected independently, with the help of exercises for the speech apparatus.
Step 3
Check how well you know the literature. Check out the list of works that the Department of Education recommends for high school liberal arts schools. Read what you haven't read. Add to these lists a number of dramatic works written during the same periods. They are not studied very often at school, but the actor needs to know them.
Step 4
Explore the history of theater. You can also do this yourself. Not only books will help you, but also videos. Historical reconstruction is now extremely popular, the fashion of restoring ancient phenomena has also touched the theater. See, among other things, the recordings where the modern troupe completely repeats the old production.
Step 5
If you have never done singing or dancing, enroll in a vocal and choreographic club. You can also take lessons from private teachers. In addition, music and dance schools often organize similar groups for those who have already left school age. You need to learn to control your body and put your voice.
Step 6
Enroll in a drama studio or amateur theater. There are such groups in many clubs and houses of culture. There you can try yourself on stage. In an amateur group under the guidance of a good theatrical teacher, you will understand how stage speech differs from ordinary speech and learn stage movement. There you will also understand whether you want to become a professional actor or prefer theater as a hobby.
Step 7
If you feel that you cannot imagine your life without a stage, find out if there are theater schools in your city. This is not necessarily a specialized university or college, it may also be a studio at a local theater. And remember that many great actors did not start their life on the stage at all.
