Dmitry was born in Yekaterinburg at the end of March 1970. The boy's family was far from art - his mother worked as a physician, and his father worked as an engineer at one of the city's auto enterprises.
Dima was a very active child, and, trying to channel his irrepressible energy into a "peaceful" channel, his parents took him to the sports section. The boy tried several directions - from boxing to basketball, even became a master of sports in sambo, but all this was "not his".
Dmitry failed to enter the university right after school, and he went to serve in the army, got into the tank troops. After the army, he entered the Ural Polytechnic Institute, where he met with members of the KVN team "Ural dumplings".
Brekotkin never received a diploma of higher education. But this failure was compensated by victories in KVN. The Uralskiye Pelmeni team became the champion of the Higher League, founded their own show, with which they perform successfully to this day.
Success did not come immediately. After winning the KVN "Uralskiye Pelmeni" they were looking for earnings at corporate parties for a long time, starring in various TV projects. They opened their own show only in 2009. There was a lack of money and other difficulties associated with it. Dmitry Brekotkin's wife, Ekaterina, supported her husband, believed that he would be successful, and was not mistaken.
KVN and "Ural dumplings"
Studying at school and at the university was not easy for Dmitry, but he showed his artistry more skillfully. This could not go unnoticed, and the guy was invited to the institute KVN team. The proposal was accepted without hesitation.
After being expelled from the university, Brekotkin had to look for a job that could be combined with playing KVN. Such a place was found in one of the city's construction companies.
A long tour began in 1995. Dmitry visited both Sochi and the capital with the Uralskiye Pelmeni team when it reached the Higher League. At home his wife and little daughter were waiting for him.
Until 2007, the life of Dmitry and his family was associated with KVN, which practically did not bring income. Then there were tests of myself in various television projects - "Yuzhnoye Butovo", "Show News" and others.
All this time, the Brekotkin family huddled in rented apartments, like the families of other team members. Only in 2009 Dmitry, Ekaterina and their children were able to breathe more freely financially, - on one of the TV channels the show "Ural dumplings" began to appear on an ongoing basis.
Dmitry says about his wife - a real heroine, a Decembrist. It was on her that the "rear" of the family was kept, and for all the years of his creative development, Dima did not hear a word of reproach from Catherine. She was sure that sooner or later her husband's talent would be recognized and adequately paid.

Dmitry Brekotkin met his future wife Ekaterina in 1994. Both were students, practicing compulsory "conscription" in a construction brigade.
A little over a year after they met, the couples formalized an official marriage, and after another 2 years their eldest daughter Anastasia was born. After the birth of the child, Catherine returned to her hometown. It was simply unrealistic to support a family in the capital, where Dmitry spent most of his time.
For several years, the head of the family rushed between the two cities, trying not to deprive the attention of his beloved girls - his wife Katya and little daughter Nastya. In 2007, another girl, Elizaveta, was born to the Brekotkins.
Dima wanted to transfer his family to Moscow, but Catherine refused. She decided that she was not ready for life in the capital, especially since her husband is constantly on the set, then on tour. This is how the Brekotkin family lives and now - girls in the Urals, Dmitry “between heaven and earth”, but so far nothing wants to change the family.
Nastya Brekotkina is already quite adult, but has not yet decided on the choice of profession. She follows the example of her mother - she graduated from the university, entered graduate school.
But the youngest daughter of Dmitry is more like dad, not as serious as mom, artistic and restless. She gladly supports Dmitry in all his hobbies - windsurfing, horse riding, dogs, cars, drawing.
Dmitry himself admits that he would love to lie on the couch, coming home to Yekaterinburg, but his family does not allow him to relax. The girls require attention and entertainment, and the sofa - he is silent and patient, can wait.
