The first is preferable, because at the moment of communication you do not have to be distracted, ask again, stop the dialogue, waste time recording. The dictaphone will do all this automatically. However, make sure that the battery in it is charged, and that the device itself is in good working order and does not tend to turn off for unexplained reasons.
Step 2
Prepare a list of key questions to ask. In the process, it will have to be corrected, added, clarified, but the main topic should be known to both you and your interlocutor in advance.
Step 3
During a conversation, listen carefully to the interlocutor. Do not rely on voice recorder or paper recordings. Ask as many questions as possible, show sincere attention to the interlocutor.

After the meeting is over, transcribe it, accurately translating the audio recording or paper notes into electronic form. It is much easier to correct and complete in a text editor.
Step 5
In the simplest form of an interview, each remark begins on a new line, and either the initials of your interlocutor or yours are written in front of it. In some cases, instead of the initials of the interviewer, the first letters of the title of the publication or the abbreviation "Corr." - correspondent. Between the remarks, you can note the peculiarities of your interlocutor's behavior, reactions to your questions and your own words.
Step 6
Some of the words of the interlocutor, you can arrange in the text on behalf of the author. For example: “A. expressed dissatisfaction with the behavior of his boss. He explained his opinion by the lack of proper experience and education of Mr. Ivanov. Specify some of the replicas not in the form of dialogs, but in quotes. Vary all three methods as you see fit.
