You can make original candlesticks with your own hands from various materials at hand: wood, polymer clay, salt dough, glass or tin cans, etc.
Candlestick made of branches
Necessary materials:
- beautiful branches;
- drill with a nozzle for cutting circles with a diameter of 3.75 cm.
Manufacturing:
On the selected branches, mark with a pencil the places where you will cut the circles. Then we put on goggles, put a board for shavings under the branch and make round holes with a drill. We clean the branches of debris with a vacuum cleaner and insert the candles into the holes obtained.
Wooden candlesticks with a pattern
Necessary materials:
- wooden cubes;
- circle stickers;
- White paint;
- drill with attachment for cutting round holes.
Manufacturing:
In the middle of the wooden cube we make a round hole of the required diameter and depth, depending on the size of the chosen candle. Then we overlap round stickers around the perimeter of the cube. We paint the lower part of the future candlestick with white paint in several layers. When the paint is completely dry, carefully peel off the stickers and insert the candles.
Birch candlestick
Necessary materials:
- birch stumps 10, 15 and 20 cm high;
- drill with a nozzle for cutting circles with a diameter of 3.75 cm.
Manufacturing:
In the middle of the birch blocks we drill holes with a diameter of 3.75 cm, clean the product from sawdust and insert candles into them. Then we tie the resulting blanks using a coarse rope. A handmade birch candlestick will not only decorate the interior, but will also serve for many years.
Wine bottle candlestick
Necessary materials:
- empty wine bottles;
- glass cutter;
- sandpaper.
Manufacturing:
Wine bottle candlesticks are the perfect decoration for a romantic dinner. It is very easy to make such a decor. First you need to wash the used wine bottles by removing the labels from them. Then, using a special device designed for cutting glass, we outline the cutting line, after which we place the bottle under hot water and slowly scroll it. Then we repeat the procedure again, but under cold water. Due to the sharp temperature drop, the bottle should split along the line outlined earlier. After the bottom of the bottle is cut off, it must be sanded with sandpaper so that it is not sharp.
Simple candlestick from a painted bottle
Necessary materials:
- empty wine bottles;
- knitted openwork napkins;
- spray paint;
- newspaper;
- rubber seals.
Used wine bottles can be used as candle holders by simply placing them in the neck of the bottle. To make such a candlestick look beautiful and original, the bottle can be decorated with paint and an openwork napkin. To do this, wrap a napkin around the bottle and spray paint. When the paint is dry, carefully remove the napkin.
Silver bottle candlestick
Necessary materials:
- empty clear glass wine bottle;
- masking tape;
- spray paint silver;
- dishwashing liquid.
Manufacturing:
First, we soak the container in soapy water for 30 minutes, then tear off the labels and let the bottles dry. Further along a spiral in the direction from the bottom to the neck, glue masking tape and paint the bottles with silver paint from a spray bottle. When the paint is dry, peel off the masking tape and insert a thin candle into the neck of the bottle.
Tin can candlestick
Necessary materials:
- cans;
- roulette;
- drill;
- spray paint gold;
- masking tape;
- aerosol glue;
- colored cardboard;
- templates for numbers;
- scalpel;
- candles.
Manufacturing:
We glue the inside of the can with masking tape or cover it with cling film. Then we paint the cans with golden aerosol paint. This should be done by holding the jar at a distance of 15-20 cm to avoid the formation of smudges. If you want to get a more saturated color, then the paint should be applied in 2-3 layers.
When the paint is completely dry, we print the numbers on white paper and wrap the jars with it. Then, using a drill, we drill holes along the contour of the numbers. Moreover, the more holes you make, the more light will pass through them. For the manufacture of such candlesticks, you can use paint of any color, and any other template is suitable as a pattern. Alternatively, you can create a whole composition of jars with different patterns.
You can also use colored cardboard to decorate the can. To do this, the cardboard must be placed in a jar, measure the width and height, and then cut it off and glue it to the outside of the jar using aerosol glue.
Glass jar candlestick
Necessary materials:
- glass jar;
- knitted napkin;
- scissors;
- hot glue for fabric;
- hot glue gun.
Manufacturing:
Cut the lace napkin to the size of the selected glass jar. We process the seams with hot melt glue for the fabric so that the threads do not come loose. After that, we wrap the jar with a napkin and glue it along the seam.
Candlestick-heart made of dough
Necessary materials:
- dough;
- baking molds in the form of hearts;
- metal spatula;
- baking paper;
- candles;
- paint, sequins, rhinestones, etc.
To prepare the dough:
- 1 cup flour;
- 0.5 cups of salt;
- 0.5 cups of warm water.
Manufacturing:
In a small saucepan, mix water, flour and salt until a homogeneous thick mass is obtained. Divide the resulting dough into four equal parts and lay out on baking paper. We slightly roll each piece and cut a heart out of it using a special mold. Place a candle in the middle of the heart and press lightly to get a recess of the desired size. We poison dough blanks to be baked in the oven, preheating it to a temperature of 250 degrees. After three hours, remove the hearts from the baking sheet using a metal spatula. When the dough has cooled down, the candlesticks need to be painted and decorated with sparkles, rhinestones, ribbons, buttons and any other decorative elements. You can make candlesticks of any shape from salted dough and paint them for every taste.
Pumpkin candlestick
Necessary materials:
- small pumpkin;
- drill with a nozzle for cutting round holes;
- candles.
Manufacturing:
Cut off the tail of the pumpkin, then cut a round hole in the center that coincides in diameter with the selected candle. Remove the seeds and pulp from the pumpkin, then insert the candle. The candlestick can be painted with gold or silver paint, decorated with ribbons, sparkles, rhinestones, lace, etc.
Clay candlestick in the shape of a flower
Necessary materials:
- polymer clay of red or pink color;
- small plastic egg;
- round wooden stick.
Manufacturing:
We knead the polymer clay in our hands so that it becomes soft and plastic, after which we divide it into small pieces and roll it out. We take a plastic egg and stick it with clay so that we get a petal. Thus, we make a few more petals of different sizes and form a flower from them. We bake finished clay candlesticks in the oven according to the instructions on the package.
