Let the pawns and the weakest pieces on the board, but they are the soul of chess. An attack by an organized pawn chain can be a decisive event in a game, and in an endgame, pawns always come to the fore. There are as many as five rules of movement for the pawn alone, the rest of the pieces are bypassed with one or two.

Instructions
Step 1
At the beginning of the game, each player has eight pawns, which occupy the initial position - stand in a row on the next rank after the pieces, that is, white pawns on the second, and black pawns on the seventh.
The pawn moves only vertically and only forward, usually one square, but from the initial position, if the player wishes, it can move two squares at once. The pawn cannot jump over other pieces, which means that a two-square move from the initial position can only be made if both of these squares are free.
The white pawn can never get to the first rank, and the black pawn to the eighth.
Step 2
Beats a pawn to the left or right diagonally one square forward. In this case, the opponent's piece is removed from the board, and the pawn takes its place.
Among chess amateurs, they often argue about the rule of capturing a pawn on the pass, some believe that this rule is almost a courtyard and is not used in official chess. In fact, this rule is regulated by international chess rules and is applied in professional chess. Capturing a pawn en route is the ability to capture an opponent's pawn with your pawn if it moves two squares from its original position and passes through a square that is under attack by your pawn. This rule can only be used immediately after the opponent's turn.
Step 3
A pawn is the only piece that can turn into another, for this it needs to reach the last rank, the eighth for white pawns and the first for black. If a pawn heroically reaches its destination, it can turn into any piece at the player's request in the same move, it cannot only become a king. During the promotion, the pawn is removed from the board, and a new piece is put in its place.
In no case should one neglect seemingly weak pawns, it is they that create the basis of the position on the board, and the weakness or strength of your position is determined precisely by the quality of the built pawn chain.
