Checkers is a very ancient game, but no one is sure exactly where they first appeared. It’s not so important, the main thing is that checkers are very popular today. Of course, now you can buy all kinds of play sets - from the simplest to the rare ones made of ivory. However, it is quite possible to do them yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
To do this, you need a playing field and chips. Field sizes vary from 64 to 144 cells. Most often, the playing field is made of thick paper, putting large cells on it, but it is quite possible to use even plywood or plastic, because the main thing is the size and layout of the field.
Step 2
It is even easier to make checkers, they can be cut out of a flat bar and painted in the appropriate colors, you can use any objects of two colors - small floating candles, pre-painted coins or just chess pieces.
Step 3
During a friendly party, checkers can be replaced with glasses of strong drinks of two colors, or just two types of glasses.
Step 4
If the desire to play appears unexpectedly, then you can quickly make a simple version - with a paper field and paper checkers.
Step 5
For children, the most interesting chips will be colorful cookies, sweets or pieces of black and white chocolate, because such checkers can really be "eaten"
Step 6
If you make checkers really thoroughly, then you can create them with the whole family, jointly coming up with a design and embodying an idea. It is best to use wood as the main material, but not limited to a simple form, but add individuality to them by painting or carving. Such checkers will eventually become a family heirloom.
