Choosing the right place in a movie theater can have a significant impact on the quality of movie viewing. You need to choose a place based on the size of the hall and the format of the film.

Instructions

Step 1

If you look at the layout of the cinema, you can see the so-called VIP-seats, which are located exactly in the middle of the hall, they are considered the most suitable for watching films in any format. Ideal places are considered to be located at a distance approximately corresponding to three of its diagonals, while they should be located directly in front of it. Sound systems are usually ideally tuned to the VIP area. Unfortunately, these sites have two major drawbacks. Firstly, they usually cost more than other seats, and secondly, tickets for them are sold out in the first place.

Step 2

It should be noted that the back rows in good cinemas with properly set sound are not too inferior to the VIP zone. They make it easier to fully cover the big screen, unless of course you have myopia. If the sound system is not well tuned, the back rows can have problems understanding the characters' lines and the general sound level, but cinemas with such problems are becoming less and less.

Step 3

The first rows are considered the worst, since it is rather difficult to cover the screen with a glance, usually you have to look only at some specific area of it, which can interfere with perception. However, in small cinemas, of which there are many in various multiplexes, this problem is not so acute. Firstly, the screens in such chamber halls are not very large, and secondly, the distance from the first rows to them is large enough, which allows viewers to perceive what is happening normally. In general, small, cozy rooms usually provide more comfort when watching a movie, since the size of the screen does not always indicate its quality. In large halls, the front rows are really best avoided.

Step 4

Side seating isn't all that bad when it comes to 3D film. The viewing angle on the side seats does not change too much, so that the screen can be easily captured with a glance. However, if there is a choice between side seats in the front or rear rows, choose the latter.

Step 5

If you want to watch a movie in 3D, be sure to sit in the center of the room. If all good places are sold out for the session, it is better to go to the next one. High-quality 3D does not suffer too much when viewed from the side, however, most of the films in this format were not actually shot in 3D, but were artificially translated into it after filming, since it is much cheaper. Movies converted to 3D have poorer picture quality, which additionally suffers when viewed from the side.
