Melodramas help a person escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Everyone can experience a whole life story told by the director. And, of course, there are samples in this genre that are recognized as the best of the best.
Naming the best of the best is a thankless task. Everyone has their own ideas about what can be considered good, bad, and what is worth revising from time to time, enjoying the masterpiece that has turned out many times. But there are examples of artistic expression of feelings in cinema that have stood the test of time.
In the TOP
In the first place in the top ten - "Gone with the Wind". An immortal story revealed by Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable. The film was filmed back in 1939 and forever won the hearts of people with the depth of the revealed feelings.
Second place goes to Breakfast at Tiffany's. This is both a comedy, a drama, and a melodrama with Audrey Hepburn in the title role, a girl who met an interesting young man.
"Jane Eyre" - Timothy Dalton, Zila Clark, Robert James and many other famous actors have participated in the creation of this masterpiece. A modest but proud girl strives for happiness, but not everything is so simple on her way.
"Slumdog Millionaire" - a picture taken not so long ago, in 2008, tells about a simple Indian boy who has gone the hard way of growing up from street punks to a millionaire. He gets his chance, and it's worth seeing.
In fifth place "When Harry Met Sally" - in this story, everything is not easy. They meet as friends, for many years they cannot be together, but the power of feelings gradually brings them closer together so that they can no longer be separated.
Five more strongest
"Parallel Worlds" is another film shot relatively recently in 2012. If the worlds of two hearts are separated by an invisible abyss, there is no force stronger than love that can overcome even the force of gravity.
Seventh place is taken by "Tenderness", where Audrey Tautou and François Damiens at first just work colleagues are getting closer. One meaningless kiss, and a beautiful love story unfolds in full force.
"Diary of Memory" is a wonderful story of a difficult relationship between two hearts, when the obstacles of life do not allow them to unite. Narrated on behalf of the elderly at the end of their journey.
Ninth place is given to "Titanic". Unsinkable melodrama of all times and peoples. If at one point the main character was just a homeless boy, then overnight fate can change. Let it be just for a little while.
Tenth place - Pretty Woman with Richard Gere and Julia Roberts.
