In summer, it is impossible to do without photographs on the street. But on a city street or in the open air, you will have the same problems with photography, if you forget about some of the subtleties.
A fundamentally important difference between summer days is the bright sun, which gives very deep dark shadows in photographs. And of course, people squint in bright light, so portrait photography in the summer will probably be the biggest problems. But the photographs of nature will not be very expressive, too overexposed, with deep shadows.
What to do?
First, try changing the shooting time. In the morning or evening, the lighting is softer, diffused. If for some reason there is no way to reschedule the shooting, find a shadow. It is there that the portrait will turn out without shadows that strongly distort the face. It is also important to find the correct position in relation to the sun. Shooting directly against the sun, of course, can be used to achieve certain effects, but ordinary vacation shots from this position will only lose.
When shooting on a bright sunny day, it is also worth using additional lighting to get a good portrait. Experienced photographers may recommend using a flash, reflector, diffuser. The flash and reflector will create an additional light source that will prevent deep shadows from appearing on the face, and the diffuser can be installed where shadows are difficult to find. Of course, all these three techniques can be used simultaneously, but then it is difficult to do without an assistant.
And of course, if your camera has the ability to manually set the exposure, be sure to use this opportunity.
