In order for indoor flowers to safely endure the winter, you will need to prepare them for the cold weather. If you do everything right, in the spring they will again delight the owners with their flowering.
A room rose must be prepared for winter in advance - this flower is quite capricious. If in the summer it was placed on the balcony, the rose should be brought into the house when the air temperature drops to +15 degrees. If possible, it is better to place the flower on the south side.
After the rose is removed indoors, for some time it needs to maintain the same watering regime. It is necessary to start preparing a rose for winter when it has completely faded and budding has stopped. Watering is done less often - dry soil can be left for several days. Top dressing for this period is stopped completely.
In winter, the air temperature for the rose must be maintained at + 15-17 degrees Celsius. In apartments this temperature is not always easy to achieve, but you can think of something. In extreme cases, you should at least not place the flower over a radiator or near heating appliances.
Before you put the rose for the winter, it should be pruned. After pruning, 5-6 live buds should remain on each branch. You do not need to trim the leaves.
Pruning is best done on the growing moon. If you neglect this operation, the rose for next year will not be able to bloom magnificently or will bloom very late. If, nevertheless, the rose was not pruned in the fall, the situation can be corrected by doing it in the spring.
