Instructions

Step 1

Create a new document of any size and fill it with a linear gradient using a suitable color combination - for example, a transition from light green to dark green. Apply the Water Paper filter from the Filter> Sketch menu to the background gradient. Set the following Water Paper settings: Fiber Length - 29, Brightness - 61, Contrast - 73.

Step 2

Having prepared a beautiful textured background, find the most contrasting image of the figure you need, from which you want to shoot a silhouette. Place the image in the center of the background document and set the shape layer's Opacity to 7%.

Step 3

Select the Pen Tool from the Toolbox and start carefully tracing the silhouette of the girl on your semitransparent photo layer with lines with anchor points. Outline only part of the silhouette to create a nice effect, and set a lighter shade of the color than the background color.

Step 4

Draw a thin line, then select the Stroke Path option from the context menu. Check the box that appears on the phrase Simulate Pressure and select a brush from the list (Brush). A graceful line will appear on the background layer, hugging the silhouette of the girl in the translucent photo.

Step 5

Delete the path, and then start creating new paths by tracing the desired parts of the silhouette with the pen tool and turning them into lines using the Stroke Path option. After the silhouette is outlined, delete the layer with the original image, and then on each layer of the silhouette in the Layer Options set the Drop Shadow and Outer Glow parameters in the Overlay blending mode.

Step 6

The silhouette is ready - now you can complement it with any bright element or text.
