It is necessary

  • For a pillow cover:
  • - 0.7 m wool flannel in a small cage "chicken foot" (with a width of 140 cm);
  • - 0.35 m cotton twill (width 140 cm);
  • - 0.50 cm thin green corduroy (140 cm wide);
  • - blue cotton fabric (25 * 70 cm);
  • - red corduroy (20 * 25 cm);
  • - zipper 75 cm long;
  • - haftflees flizofix;
  • - threads.
  • For the pillow:
  • - 1, 15 m coarse calico (with a width of 140 cm);
  • - styrofoam balls (for filling).

Instructions

Step 1

Cut out from woolen flannel and from coarse calico: 1 circle each (for the upper side of the cover) with a diameter of 65 cm. From cotton twill and from coarse calico: 2 semicircles each (for the lower side of the cover) with a radius of 32.5 cm.

Step 2

Made of thin green corduroy: 2 side parts of the cover measuring 102 * 19 cm; 2 finishing strips (65 * 4 cm); handle (30 * 9 cm). Made of blue cotton fabric: 2 trim strips (65 * 3.5 cm); 4 strips (65 * 1.5 cm). Coarse calico: 2 side parts of the cover measuring 102 * 19 cm.

Step 3

Draw on the upper round part of the cover the middle lines (along the longitudinal thread and the transverse thread), between which draw diagonal lines at equal intervals (8 "pieces of cake").

Step 4

Iron the 1 cm allowances along the longitudinal cuts of the trim strips (green corduroy and blue cotton fabric) to the wrong side. Fold each strip of blue fabric in half lengthwise with the wrong side inward.

Step 5

Baste 2 strips under the longitudinal edges of each green corduroy trim strip so that the folds of the strips protrude 7 mm wide. Pin the blue trim strips to the upper part of the pillow cover (crosswise) so that the lines in the middle of the planks lie on the drawn lines.

Step 6

Sew the trim strips to the edge. Use needles to attach the corduroy trim strips over the rest of the scribbled lines on the top of the case, and stitch. Fold the handle in half with the wrong side inward.

Step 7

Press on, sew the edges to the edge. When finished, the handle should be 4.5 cm wide. Stick the handle to one side of the cover in the middle.

Step 8

Stitch the ends of the pen to the edge, 4 cm apart, and crosswise. Prepare the motif for the bone appliqué. Cut the red corduroy into 2 equal pieces (10 * 25cm).

Step 9

Press haftflees to the corduroy pieces (wrong side). Cut out a “bone” from each flap, process the sections with a “zigzag” stitch. Place the "bones" on the upper part of the pillow according to the photo, sew.

Step 10

Fold (face to face) the lower semicircular parts, stitching straight cuts on one side to a length of 5 cm, then leave the cuts open (for a "zipper").

Step 11

Sew the side pieces into a long strip. Having folded the short cuts of the resulting strip with the right sides, sew on one side to a length of 4 cm, leave the rest of the section open (for the "zipper").

Step 12

Attach the side to the bottom of the cover, aligning the edges of the slits. Unscrew the seam allowances on the side piece. Stitch the side piece along the joining seam close to the seam.

Step 13

Place the zipper under the edges of the cut and sew so that the zipper teeth are not visible. Uncover the zipper. Sew the side of the cover to the top by stitching the side along the welt seam close to the seam.

Step 14

Unscrew the cover. Connect the lower semicircular pieces of coarse calico, leaving an open area of 20 cm in the seam for turning and filling the pillow.

Step 15

Close the side pieces into a ring. Sew the resulting piece to the upper and lower round coarse calico pieces. Unscrew the pillow and fill with styrofoam balls. Sew the open seam. Place the pillow in the cover.
