A rare child who cannot be conquered by a cute penguin. Try together with your children to make these adorable characters out of small pom-poms. Give the kids the opportunity to make two-tone pom poms while you try your hand at crocheting to make a tiny hat.
It is necessary
- For pom-poms:
- - circles with a diameter of 5.5 cm, 7.5 cm with holes;
- - yarn of white, red, yellow, green.
- For penguins:
- - felt yellow, red;
- - beads (eyes);
- - crochet hook 4 mm;
- - glue
Instructions
Step 1
Make pom poms. On half a piece (cardboard or plastic template) for a large pompom, wrap 50 with white yarn. Then fill in both sides of this half of the template with colored thread.
Step 2
Fill the other half of the template with the same color. Secure, tie and shape into a ball, leaving the long ends where you tied the pompom. In the same way, make a smaller pompom.
Step 3
Slip the two pom poms together so that the white panels line up. Use tweezers to create the heart shape of the white part of the head. Glue the eyes to the top of the "heart".
Step 4
Fold the yellow felt (1.5cm x 4cm) in half and glue inside the fold. Cut the folded felt into a beak and glue it to the head just below the depth of the "heart".
Step 5
Trim the bottom of the penguin. To the resulting flat base, glue two oblong yellow legs. Add a pair of felt wings on either side of the bird, glueing them to the junction of the head and body so they stick out.
Step 6
Tie a hat. Using a 4mm crochet hook, cast on 4 air loops, and join into a ring with a connecting post.
Step 7
Insert 5 double crochets into the ring and end the row with a connecting post = 5 sts.
Row 1: chain stitch, * 1 double crochet, 2 double crochets to the next stitch of the previous row, work from * to * to the end of the row, connecting stitch = 7 loops.
Step 8
Row 2 starts with an air loop and continues in the same way as row 1 = 10 loops.
Row 3: air loop, then knit as in the previous 2 rows = 15 loops.
Step 9
Row 4: double crochet, * 2 double crochets, 2 double crochets in the next loop of the previous row, work from * to * to the end, connecting column = 20 loops.
Row 5 we knit in the same way as the 4th row = 26 loops.
Step 10
Row 6: Change yarn color, * 3 double crochets, 2 double crochets to the next stitch of the previous row, work from * to * to the end, connecting stitch = 32 stitches.
Step 11
Row 7: Change thread color, * 5 double crochets, half crochet, double crochet, double crochet, 2 double crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, 5 crochet * work from * to * to end, connecting post = 32 loops.
Step 12
Measure out 3 pieces of yarn each 20 cm long. Thread them through the space between 2 double crochets on each side of the hat.
Step 13
Fold in half, twist the resulting double pieces together to a length of 4 cm. Tie the ends of the bundle and cut. Sew a small pom-pom onto the top of your hat.
Step 14
At your discretion, instead of a crocheted hat, you can try to make a small headdress from felt, decorating with embroidery.
