It is necessary
Wooden boards, PVA glue, saw
Instructions
Step 1
Planks made of linden, alder and pine are suitable for the manufacture of wooden boxes. They are easy to work off and for eruption.
Step 2
Decide on the size and thickness of the walls of the wooden box. For example, make a box with the following dimensions: 10x10, height 8 cm, wall thickness 1 cm. For this size of the box, take 2 boards 1 cm thick. One board 40 cm long and 8 cm wide, the second board 10 cm wide and 20 cm long …
Step 3
From a long board, cut 4 side parts of the box measuring 8x10 cm. From a board that is shorter, cut out the bottom and top of 10x10 cm.
Step 4
To assemble the side parts, prepare a fixture - a flat surface that will be larger than the size of the box. On this device, first put two side parts and dock them. You will see that you will need to make a bevel along the length of the ribs of the two sides from the inside so that they fit perfectly and beautifully.
Step 5
To do this, mark on the inside the thickness that will go for trimming. Place one side on a flat surface and bevel with a jamb knife at a 45-degree angle on the edge. With the second sidewall, do the same operation, having previously outlined the thickness of the bevel.
Step 6
Connect the two sidewalls together with bevels to each other. Make sure they fit perfectly and tightly. In case of a bad connection, it is necessary to adjust the sidewalls using sandpaper or a block.
Step 7
After fitting, glue the 2 sidewalls with PVA glue. The inner corner of the sidewalls should be 90 degrees, that is, right. Make the remaining two sidewalls and after fitting, glue them all together. You will end up with a box without a bottom and top.
Step 8
On the resulting box, glue the bottom and top of the future box with glue. Leave it for a day so that everything sticks well.
Step 9
After a day, bring the resulting workpiece with sandpaper to an even cube. Step 2 cm down from the top, draw a line along the sides of the cube. Take a hacksaw and carefully saw through each side of the sidewalls.
Step 10
Grind the resulting parts, and from the back of the box, remove the chamfer for the hinges so that they sink a little. You can buy ready-made hinges.
Step 11
To prevent the lid of the finished box from moving, drill small holes in the front wall and lid. Insert the pin into the lower hole. The finished box can be painted, carved, or decoupage.
