Slime is an amazing toy that can keep any child busy for a long time. It is a lump of colored sticky mass, quite strong and viscous. If you still don't know how to make slime without sodium tetraborate using materials that are easy enough to find at home, you should definitely learn how to do it.
It is necessary
- - starch;
- - water;
- - enameled dishes;
- - spoon or stick;
- - dye (it is safer to use food);
- - ordinary plastic bag;
- - PVA glue.
Instructions
Step 1
You can make slime without sodium tetraborate using starch, PVA glue, shampoo, water. At the same time, not only the result of making a toy itself, but also the process of getting a funny slime at home can be fascinating for a kid or teenager.
Step 2
One of the most common craft materials is starch. Usually it is available in the house, in the absence of it, you can buy powder at any grocery store inexpensively.
Step 3
The first thing to do is to dilute the starch with half a glass of hot water and stir the mixture thoroughly with a spoon. The amount of starch must be calculated in such a way that the mass becomes very thick. Lumps in the mixture, as well as too hard a consistency, should not be allowed.
Step 4
Next, you should add a dye to the resulting mass. As mentioned above, it is advisable to use liquid or powder food coloring, but a few drops of gouache will do if it is not available.
Step 5
Mix the mass for the future slime with the dye in a plastic bag so as not to get dirty.
Step 6
PVA glue must be added to the painted cooled mass. It can be bought from an office supply store or a specialty section of any supermarket for little money.
Step 7
Kneading a mixture of glue and starch in a bag must be done until a homogeneous mass of a viscous consistency is obtained. It is possible to separate excess water during the manufacture of slime, excess liquid can simply be drained.
Step 8
If you were able to correctly make a slime without sodium tetraborate, do not forget to store it in an airtight container - a bag or jar with a lid. Otherwise, the toy may dry out.
Step 9
However, you can play again with a spoiled dry mass if you add water to it and knead it thoroughly.
Step 10
You can use baking soda instead of starch to make slime at home. The manufacturing process will not change from this.
Step 11
If there is no starch or soda at home, you can make a slime from PVA glue and shampoo. Neither sodium tetraborate nor other ingredients that are not easy to find in regular stores will not be needed. To make such a toy is as easy as shelling pears - you only need to mix glue and shampoo until smooth, adding a dye of the desired color.
If the shampoo is thick, then the proportions will be about the same, to make a slime from a liquid shampoo, you will need more PVA. To play with the slime even safer, you can use baby shampoo.
