Any box for dolls is created for a specific doll. Inside it, everything should be arranged so as to save the doll as much as possible during transportation, and outside it should be very decorative. Dolls in such boxes do not need special gift wrapping.
It is necessary
- - Gray cardboard (from 2 millimeters thick or more);
- - fabric, synthetic winterizer, ribbons, buckles;
- - material for fixing the stand and additional supports (styroforms, polystyrene, or other similar materials, the main thing is that the material is dense and elastic);
- - glue for expanded polystyrene;
- - paints;
- - materials necessary for decoration (at your discretion).
Instructions
Step 1
First, you need to decide on the location of the doll in the future gift box and, of course, on the shape of the box itself. The doll must be fixed in such a way that when shaken or hit, it would not hit the walls. If your doll has a weak (easily breakable) part, it is advisable to fix it additionally.
Step 2
Next, we calculate the size, taking into account the foam and padding polyester. But here, when creating a cylindrical box, there is a nuance: the bottom should be slightly larger than the top, somewhere by the thickness of the box wall, because the upper part is more conveniently glued into the cylinder. Never glue the bottom over the wall.
Step 3
As for the bottom of an ordinary box, the walls will have to lean on it.
Step 4
You can use a regular pot as a template for the bottom and top of the box. Cut out blanks from cardboard (directly for the box itself).
Step 5
The blanks for the walls must be moistened with water using a sponge, after which they will bend easily. Bend the blanks so that they fit in the pot (the pot must be the correct diameter).
Step 6
When the cardboard is dry, it will hold its shape perfectly.
Check if the bottom fits well with the walls of the box and, if necessary, cut a little, but if the walls are smaller in diameter than necessary, cut out an additional part to it (to increase the wall).
Step 7
Glue at the seams with a hot gun. Decorate with it, protecting corners and edges from defects.
Step 8
Next, we move on to painting. It is best to use spray paint, if not, you can take nitro paint or matte enamel. Using a template and paint (of a different color), you can apply a pattern to your taste.
Step 9
Next, you need to make holes in the bottom of the box and pass the ribbons through them crosswise, but so that they pass from the outer part of the bottom and go out along the edges. Tie them on top of the box, like a cake. Use an awl to make holes for the handle in the upper plane of the box.
