If you have just purchased a guitar, do not yet know how to tune it by ear, or simply do not trust your musical ear, you can use an electronic tuner. They come in a variety of models and are usually sold in the same place as guitars.
It is necessary
- - Electronic tuner or corresponding program;
- - acoustic guitar.
Instructions
Step 1
Turn on the tuner. They come in different models, but yours probably has a scale in the form of a semicircle with divisions and a line, a microphone - a hole marked mic, as well as an indicator light - a diode, which, depending on the accuracy of the string tuning, glows in different colors from red, which indicates a false sound. to green, indicating that the note is sounding clear. Also on the tuner there are probably settings buttons.
Step 2
Using the instructions, select the acoustic guitar in the settings (usually the tuner allows you to tune the electric guitar and bass as well) and, if required, the note corresponding to the first string - "Mi". It is denoted by the letter E. However, sometimes the tuner itself determines which note the string sounds closest to.
Step 3
Bring the tuner's microphone as close as possible to the "socket", the hole on the guitar body, over which the strings are stretched, and pluck the first string. If the string is already tuned, the LED on it will light up green, but if tuning is required, it will be red, yellow or orange. The arrow will deviate from the vertical position to the right or left - depending on whether the note is overstated or understated.
Step 4
If you tune the guitar right after installing new strings, be sure to check which note is shown on the display. It may turn out that the string is still too loosely taut and the sound is much lower than it should be. Make sure that the desired note is displayed and the sound is clear - that is, the green LED and the vertical position of the arrow.
Step 5
Tune each of the six strings. Then check the sound of the entire guitar with chords. By the way, some tuner models are capable of detecting chords as well, which will help to check the tuning.
