Most people learn the basics of choral singing during their school music lessons. But a truly gifted teacher of choral art cannot be found in any of the educational institutions. In addition, the desire to sing does not always manifest itself in adolescence or childhood. Awareness of the value of this art comes over the years. However, they also have a chance to learn to sing and take a place in the choir.
It is necessary
- - player with recorded music
- -solfeggio textbook
- - computer with Guitar Pro or Note Worthy Composer
- - synthesizer or virtual piano keyboard
- - choir circle
Instructions
Step 1
Determine the repertoire you want to perform. Choral music can be secular or spiritual. If you are more into secular works, visit the nearest House of Culture. If you like sacred music, go to the temple. There are amateur choirs in many parishes. Even if your church does not have such a group, you will be prompted and explained where it is.
Step 2
Classes, in any case, require preparation. Start with notes, especially if you've never studied them. Download programs such as Guitar Pro or Note Worthy Composer, for example. They will give an idea of the basics of musical notation. It's great if you have a synthesizer or a piano at home.
Step 3
Start learning musical notation with durations. Learn what half, quarter, whole note, etc. are, how they are written. Memorize the note sizes and read about the meaning of each number, which is written at the very beginning of the note line. Flip through your solfeggio textbook, pat or tap on a few exercises.
Step 4
Learn the placement of the treble clef on the stave. If you have a low voice, master the bass clef as well - there is a chance that your parts will be written in it. With the programs mentioned above, you will get an idea of the keys. Learn to relate a specific sound to a note. Knowledge of harmonic constructions will greatly speed up and simplify learning and singing in a choir. The study of musical notation should take place in parallel with the singing lesson. Solfeggio is also taught in some choral groups.
Step 5
Sing more to yourself. Take recordings of songs that you are familiar with and sing along with the performers. Listen to the melody very carefully, enter in the right place and finish singing at the same time as the singer. This will help you learn how to balance your voice with the voices of the rest of the choir.
