Facing is a method of making postcards, which involves the creation of volumetric images from pieces of napkin or corrugated paper. The simplicity of the technique will allow you to create a masterpiece even for children.
Required materials and tools:
- corrugated paper;
- PVA glue;
- a rod from a pen or a cotton swab;
- scissors;
- cardboard;
- ruler.
Manufacturing technology
On a piece of cardboard in the middle, draw a line, draw with the blunt side of the scissors and bend. The piece of cardboard has become the basis of the postcard. Apply a drawing to the surface: for a New Year's card - a Christmas tree with toys, for a birthday card - flowers.
Match the colors of the corrugated paper depending on the composition you choose. Cut the sheets into pieces of 1x1 cm. Apply PVA glue to a part of the picture with a brush, do not rush to cover the whole drawing with glue. Place the blunt end of the rod in the center of a colored square of corrugated paper, bend the corners of the square and roll the rod with your fingers. Without removing the workpiece from the core, glue it to the cardboard. Repeat this procedure for each piece of crepe paper. Place parts as close to each other as possible without leaving any white space.
Flowers in the technique of facing
In this technique, you can create voluminous flowers. For work, prepare: cardboard circles with a diameter equal to the size of the flower; corrugated paper circles of a wavy shape, which will become petals; leaves.
Take a petal blank in your left hand, put a cotton swab in the center. Twist the petal tightly, the result should be a trimming tube. The base of the petal, without removing it from the stick, grease with glue. Glue the part to the cardboard blank and only then remove the cotton swab. Glue each next row of petals in the middle of the previous one. Similarly, you can create a carnation. To do this, cut out the corrugated paper and shape the petals into serrated edges.
Valentine's Day card
For such a postcard, you will need a sheet of corrugated cardboard and double-sided tape. Apply double-sided thin tape around the perimeter of the cardboard sheet. Gradually removing the upper protective part of the tape, glue the trim parts. Choose a color that contrasts with the color of the baseboard.
After finishing the frame, move on to the inner filling. To do this, cut out hearts of various sizes from flat cardboard. Cover them with double-sided tape, cut out 1x1 cm red and pink blanks. Removing the scotch tape, glue the twisted ends on the hearts, fix the hearts on the card. White beads can be glued inside the end faces.
