If you decide to paint a portrait of a dog, choose an animal with an expressive muzzle and beautiful hair - for example, a husky. These animals, accustomed to living and hunting in harsh conditions, look very impressive and will be excellent models for both experienced and novice artists.
It is necessary
- - drawing paper;
- - tablet or easel;
- - the pencils;
- - eraser;
- - paper napkin.
Instructions
Step 1
Try using a pencil. The sharp lead will perfectly convey the structure of the thick and fluffy coat of the husky. You can draw the silhouette of a standing or sitting dog. But the image of a dog's muzzle, exquisitely elongated and slightly reminiscent of a wolf, will also look very beautiful.
Step 2
Attach a piece of paper to a tablet or easel for a more comfortable workflow. In the center of the sheet, outline the outlines of the future drawing. Draw an elongated vertical oval. At the top, draw two symmetrical triangles. You will have a "blank" for drawing the head, ears and neck.
Step 3
Draw two horizontal lines inside the oval. One will indicate the location of the eyes, the other - the beginning of the nose. Divide the oval in half vertically. This axis is necessary for the symmetry of the drawing. From the contour of the head, draw two lines, lying slightly at an angle and indicating the shoulders of the dog.
Step 4
On either side of the vertical axis, sketch out small eyes with corners raised to the temples. Add guidelines for the large nose. With thin pencil strokes, put a shadow around the lobe and draw a dark line from the forehead to the eyes.
Step 5
Under the nose, mark the mouth of the husky. Shade the upper part of the muzzle without touching the cheeks and ears. Rub the pencil lines with the corner of a paper napkin. Cover the cheeks, neck and shoulders with a thinner layer of lead and rub them too.
Step 6
Shadow the inside of the ears. On the forehead, mark an arched thin stripe reaching the corners of the eyes. Take an eraser and use a sharp corner to draw a straight line along the bridge of your nose.
Step 7
Draw a bold pencil line around the eyes and nose. Paint them with a dark tone, put small light highlights in the eyes. At the bottom of the muzzle, mark the points and draw lines for the vibrissae.
Step 8
Work on the structure of the coat. Use a thin lead to put small parallel strokes. Go over the entire silhouette with a pencil, not forgetting the ears. Duplicate with strokes all dark lines drawn on the face. Inside the ears, add longer strokes to simulate a long, slightly wavy coat.
