Matches are one of the simplest and most affordable materials for creativity. Many interesting crafts can be made from them. To create a ball with your own hands, master the proposed instructions.

How to make a ball of matches

It is necessary

  • - gas matches;
  • - nippers or scissors;
  • - cardboard;
  • - compasses.

Instructions

Step 1

First you need to lay out a regular box. Place two matches side by side, parallel to each other, so that the distance between them is slightly less than the length of the material. On top, make a flooring of ten matches. The extreme ones should lie flat and form a square with matches that lie below.

Step 2

Lay the second layer of ten matches perpendicular to the first. Build a nine-row well. Try to keep it level. Put the heads of the well sticks in a circle. Carefully fold the deck of ten matches on top of the base. Make the direction of the material of the upper layer opposite to the lower one. Build another deck of eight matches on top.

Step 3

In order for the ball to have even edges, draw a circle on the cardboard corresponding to its diameter, about 6 cm. If you have correctly selected the size of the circle, then the cube of matches should pass freely into the cut out circle.

Step 4

Start lining up the sides of the ball. To do this, you need to insert matches on the diagonal of any side of the cube so that an arc is formed. The inserted matches should be broken off so that they do not interfere with the construction of the material from the opposite side. Compare the correctness of the resulting semicircle using the cut out circle.

Step 5

Form a second arc on the other diagonal of the same side. When the cross semicircles are done, proceed to completely fill the entire side. Construct the other surfaces of the ball in the same way. Note that as new sides are added, the stability of the craft will decrease. The evenness of the ball can be created using cut matches.
