It is necessary

  • - paper;
  • - a simple pencil;
  • - eraser;
  • - watercolor;
  • - brushes;
  • - palette.

Instructions

Step 1

Determine the size of the objects in the picture. Sketch in pencil to indicate their boundaries. Divide a sheet of paper in half horizontally. After stepping back a couple of centimeters more, draw a line from edge to edge. It will represent the horizon - on the left side of paper space, the line will rise slightly upward.

Step 2

Separate two thirds of the space in the lower part with another line, it will mark the boundaries of the water. Use short lines to mark the boundaries of the yacht on all four sides. In this case, the distance from the upper side of the sheet to the top of the sail will be half that from the lower side to the deck. The free distance on the right is three times less than on the left.

Step 3

Draw a rough outline of the yacht itself. Its length will not be much less than its height. Draw the mast, shifting it to the left of the center. Draw the right sail in the shape of an equilateral triangle, then slightly overlap it with the left one. In this case, the width of the left sail will be equal to the visible width of the right sail.

Step 4

Refine the shape of all parts of the yacht. In the background, sketch out the outlines of three more boats. Then, erasing the auxiliary lines, start coloring the picture. Mix in the palette and paint from top to bottom with a wide brush with a basic light blue sky color. Closer to the horizon, the amount of paint on the brush will decrease, and the shade will gradually lighten. Immediately, before the fill is dry, use a clean brush to remove color from the areas where the white cloud tops are. After that, paint over the rest of the cloud area, adding gray, pinkish and yellowish tones.

Step 5

Color the sails. Although they are white, they can show tints of blues, blues and brownies in the least-lit areas. Fill the yacht itself with a dark brown, mixed in the most shaded areas with black.

Step 6

Color in the background of the picture. You can simply apply broad strokes of the desired color without drawing out the details of the landscape. Then draw in more detail on the surface of the water. Use a basic light blue color first, then blur it down from the yacht to indicate highlights. Then use small horizontal strokes to apply darker shades that are visible on the surface of the water.
