Step 1
To begin with, making a watch with your own hands is absolutely easy. The basis of such a watch can be a special clock mechanism, the skeleton of a Chinese alarm clock, or just an ugly, long-boring old watch. The main thing is that the clockwork is working and has the accuracy of the movement. After all, we make the most real clocks by which you will check the time, and not just the decoration. Arrows can be taken as attached to the mechanism, and removed from somewhere. And if none of the available hands will fit the new watch, you can try to make them yourself. Such homemade arrows will only add originality to the finished product.
Step 2
The exterior of a homemade watch can look completely different. A polished piece of wooden board with markings on it, a plastic circle covered with decoupage, an old plate, embroidered linen and much more. In this respect, there can be no limit to your imagination. A clock mechanism is attached behind the decorative element. The holes for the exit of the mechanism must be drilled strictly in the center of the future watch. Do not forget to place something under your decorative base when drilling so that it does not accidentally burst in the process. Slide the pin of the mechanism into the hole. Attach the mechanism to the base, it is best to do this with glue or liquid nails.
Step 3
Make sure that the mechanism protrudes only slightly behind the homemade watch. If you want to hang the clock on the wall, you will have to take care of suitable hinges or holes for this. They need to be done taking into account that the watch hangs straight, unless the design idea implies some special curvature of future watches.
Place the hands on the protruding pin of the clockwork. Insert the battery into the watch or wind it. All is ready. It is so easy and simple to get a unique functioning thing, the analogue of which no longer exists in the world.
