Drawing a watermelon is pretty simple. After all, in fact, it is just a striped circle. Any adult can easily draw this berry himself, if he becomes familiar with some of the features of his drawing, as well as teach his child later.
Instructions
Step 1
Before you start drawing, prepare the necessary supplies. First of all, this is A4 paper (thin sheets for office equipment or thick landscape sheets), a simple soft pencil, colored watercolors, a ruler, compasses or a pattern and an eraser.
Step 2
Usually, a watermelon is drawn in a cut state to show not only its striped clothes, but also its red pulp with seeds. So think in advance how you will draw a watermelon (mentally imagine it). You can also just find a picture of a watermelon on the Internet or in a book and take it as a sample.
Step 3
Do not rush to act with paints right away. Even the most skilled artists use a pencil and eraser. To begin with, it is better to sketch a preliminary sketch on paper with thin lines.
Step 4
Take a compass to draw a round watermelon. With its help, you will get a more regular and even circle. Lightly touching the graphite rod to the paper, draw a circle of the diameter you want. And in order to get an oblong oval watermelon, use a mold.
Step 5
Then, with a simple pencil, draw a small tail for the watermelon. Place it at the top of the circle, slightly away from the edge. If the watermelon is oval, then place the tail on one of the elongated sides. The ponytail should be thicker at the base than at the end. Sometimes it is drawn similar in shape to a pig's tail.
Step 6
Now (with the help of a compass or a template) draw a slice cut out of a watermelon. It is half a circle of the same diameter as the watermelon itself. Also draw where it was cut from (see accompanying picture).
Step 7
Then draw jagged stripes for the watermelon. The stripes should come from the base of the ponytail. Make the edge of the slice also uneven. And also do not forget to draw black seeds (as shown in the accompanying picture).
Step 8
Now proceed with the actual coloring of the pencil sketch. If the sketch lines are thick and bold, then wipe them with an eraser, making them almost transparent. Erase the extra lines too.
Step 9
For the outer clothing of the watermelon, take two colors: bright green and light green. Color the stripes one at a time. Color the tail in green or brown. Paint the peel on the slice as shown in the picture. The flesh of the watermelon should be red and the seeds should be dark brown or black.
