Step 1
To create a disk image, you need a special emulator program. Some of the most popular are applications such as Alcohol 120% Virtual CD, Daemon Tools, etc. Let's consider the process of disk emulation using the example of the last program. After the first launch of the program, the system will detect the new drive. It is virtual and designed to emulate ISO disc images. To launch the virtual disk, right-click on the application icon in the system tray (in the lower right corner of the screen). Select the item "Virtual drives", then move the mouse pointer to the created virtual drive and in the menu that opens, click on the item "Mount image". In the dialog box that opens, find the required ISO file. Select it and click the "Open" button.
Step 3
In a few moments, the disk image will be mounted to the virtual disk drive. Now you can open it in the same way as a real disk in a regular computer drive. To do this, go to "My Computer" and double-click on the virtual disk drive with the mounted image. After that, its contents will open in front of you, or the disk shell will start.
Step 4
Another way to expand an ISO file is to work with it as if it were an archive. This will require one of the archiving programs, for example, WinRAR. Right-click on the file, select "Open with" and select the archiver program. The contents of the ISO archive file will appear in the application window. For more convenient work with it, extract it from the archive into a separate folder.
Step 5
Also, using a disc burning program (for example, Ahead Nero, Small CD-Writer, Ashampoo Burning Studio, etc.), you can burn an ISO image to a regular CD or DVD. As a result, instead of an image, you will get an ordinary disk that you can work with in the usual way.
