Spruce, pine, cedar cones can be seen quite often in the paintings. Now on a branch, now in the paws of a squirrel, now just on the ground. You can draw a bump with a pencil, charcoal, paints - in a word, in any available technique.
Pine cone
Find a pine tree while walking and examine its cones. What they look like the most. The pinecone can fit into a wide cone. A cone on a plane looks like a triangle. Determine the approximate ratio of the height to the widest part. Lay the sheet as you like best. Draw a horizontal line closer to its lower edge - the base of the future triangle. Divide it in half and draw a perpendicular to the middle. From the intersection point horizontally, set aside two equal lines. Connect them to the top of the vertical. Round all corners. The triangle should be almost right.
Note that the bump is made up of scales. During growth, when the buds are still green, the scales look like diamonds. In those cones that are usually lying on the ground, the scales come off and spread apart. They can be drawn in the form of stripes extending from the intersection of two main lines in different directions. The edges of the stripes extend slightly beyond the sides of the triangle. If you are drawing a pinecone with colored pencils, you need several shades of dark brown - with a reddish and a grayish tint.
You can draw a cone immediately with colored pencils. Draw vertical and horizontal lines, and then from the point of intersection - long stripes in different directions.
Spruce cone
The easiest way to draw a fir cone correctly is on the basis of a long oval. Draw an oval with a long axis about three times the short one. Sharpen one end of the bump. At an angle to the long axis between the contour lines, draw strokes at equal distances from each other. Apply a second layer of strokes to make diamonds all over the surface. Circle the edges of the diamonds that are closer to the sharp end of the bump.
If you are drawing a postcard for the New Year, it is better to depict a spruce cone with a branch. Draw the line of the branch itself. Draw it in brown pencil. Then draw the needles with zigzag strokes. The tips of the needles are facing the end of the twig. Draw the bump not on the line itself, but slightly below, so that it seems that it hangs down. The drawing will look more natural.
Color in the bump with a light brown pencil, and outline the outlines in dark brown. If you are drawing a Christmas tree toy, then you can paint it in a variety of colors, up to golden or silver.
The strokes located at an angle may not be straight, but in the form of arcs with a slight curvature.
A variety of bumps
Bumps are very different. They can even be completely round, like araucaria. Draw a circle. Divide it in half with a thin vertical line. Draw some curved lines roughly in the direction of the vertical. Then, draw some roughly parallel horizontal lines. Trace the outlines of the cones and scales.
